Alright so I purchased a 1g dsm manifold and have kind of found it hard to find a decent 14B (1g dsm turbo). Now I have found numerous t25 (2nd dsm turbo) in great condition for cheap and was curious if the t25 would bolt up to the 1g manifold.

TIA

If it won't fit would the need for an adaptor plate be needed. :tu:

yes.. it will bolt up.. a member of HMT used all 3 dsm turbos.. to try out which one he liked the best.... hehe.. lemme find his post..

edit found it hehe

Since I got my welder I am just waiting until I have some time to weld an exhaust up that I made from some scrap exaust pipes I got from behind a exhaust shop around here . I am running a cheap ass axle back exhaust with 3in muffler right now. I am getting a stock rsx muffler next week and welding it up there next week to keep that silent sound.

Withe the 3 different turbos I really couldnt say wich one I liked the best. The td04 (eclipse 1st gen auto) had full boost at around 2500 and died of around 6k, it really wasnt a problem because all you had to do was shift a little early and it was cool. A little bad on highway trips (instant boost above 3k even in 5th gear) but it was great for the city. I tried the 14b next (1st gen manual) and it was pretty good. Felt a little sluggish compared to the little guy (tdo4) but was great when I really punched the gas. Full boost (10psi) at aroun 3300 and ran great until redline. The t25 is what I have now and I think it rides the best. It's basically right between the other two. Highway driving is easier to stay out of boost and it runs very good on the streets. I think the td04 really shouldnt be used unless you dont do any highway driving and the t25 drives pretty much like a gst. The 14b is for that person who likes to burn the road up everywhere. Sorry for the long post but I like to be thorough. For the downpipe I cut the factory flange off and flared the pipe and put a steel gasket about 1/4in thick on and bolted it up to the dsm O2 housing.

ok i got a question from someone whose in the mist of being turbo after he collects parts..

hes auto as well.. and well hes wondering what turbo is right for him..

its My opinion.. u want the "lag" lol thats entitled with a 14b.. i mean it hits boost by 3,300rpm.. with stock exhaust.. since thats whats JD from HMT had.. so 2,700-3,300 on an AUTo is right past the stall converter point.. so thats perfect.. also.. it allows u to have some daily ability.. allowing u to shift at 3k.. without hitting boost and being jerked when shifted into the next gear.. thats just my opinion.. when boosting an auto i want as smooth and stock car as possible..

so if ur used to shifting at 3k.. then with a t25 or auto td04.. ud be full spooled by then..when u shift if u let off the gas.. ull feel a big sudden loss of power..

so for auto boys.. id suggest 14b..

this is just theory on how an automatic with dsm setup would react in my eyes.. aznbadass92lx needs to reply.. since he has a 14b..

just a note:

i can get to a decent amount of boost by 2000-2300 with my 14b. it depends what gear and some other variables but it happens a lot.

and yes...highway boost is basicly instant.

thats why i feel the autos should go with the biggest turbo.. so its not such a quick spooler.. as the t25.. td04.. and therefore not always putting them so quickly in boost

I think in theory a larger turbo would be beneficial mainly due to how the gears of the f22 are. They shift right around 3000 while playing nice with the gas pedal. If I drive like a granny it will shift around 2500-2700. Since the 14B should start spoolin around 3K as stated I would start to spool right as I am shifting.

BUT with the t25 doesn't it start to spool around 2500 to 3000?

Damn the auto *shakes fist in air* damn the auto to hell....

the reason u don't feel anymore power from the turbo also u have to put in the camshaft

stock don't make any power much after 5k but the delta regrind i have u feel the power for 3k then when it gets to 5k u really feel the power kick in 2 the redline

also if u have the dual stage mani and take out the butterflies that helps out alot also

Typically automatic cars have smaller turbos to their 5 speed counterparts (if not the exact same turbo). Reason being would be since automatics don't see as many high rpms as a 5 speed would so flow restrictions aren't as big of a deal.

14bs own jooO!! and on the highway doin like say 70, your turbos already at almost max boost, just put some load on it and its instantaneous
