it's pretty funny to me, and of course annoying at the same time. i guess it's the way of the american economy.

we have the folks in the jdm areas of course, but i guess they don't count for this discussion, lol.

then there are the folks who sourced true jdm parts before it was all the rave, cost an arm and a leg (literally) to get some of the items.

then some folks just want to have a true jdm part here and there on their ride, and it's been made relatively easy w/ an increasing number of different jdm importers.

then folks figured you could get on ebay and sling parts, which was cool.

but now there's too much stuff that ain't jdm (sorry for the poor english, but it's for effect :D )... 1 piece jdm projectors, jdm seatbelts, jdm badges (understandable if you're doing a swap and as jdm conversion as possible), jdm gauge clusters, jdm non-functional climate control (hopefully busted lx will be one of the first to have a functional jdm climate control), etc. etc.

so no, you're not the only one annoyed by it. i just want a decent pair of stanley jdm headlights, or some nipple-less stanley edm headlights and call it a day.

yeah, it annoys most of us. its usual to want a nice set of real JDM 1piece headlights or JDM power folding mirrors (cuz they are cool) - but when it comes to calling almost every aftermarket part "JDM" it gets really annoying. theres nothing wrong with lets say clear bumper lenses or clear corners- but calling them JDM needs to stop.

:( I want mine to be functional, getting it is the first step. I got all my stuff before the whole JDM craze caught on. so for some things that actually helped. Like the mirrors I only knew 1 other person on the boards that had a set at the time and no one really knew about them so I got them for a bit over 100 cause no one wanted them. but the headlights were 350 and I thought that was a deal at the time, most people wanted like 600+. but anyways yea to actually answer the question it is pretty stupid.

Yeah but what about the sun sensor, temp sensor, blower control module, actuators, and etc. From what I understand they are all different.

whats wrong with those headlight projectors they look nice on my car. I dont know what your talkin about I like them and I like certain altezzas but some are too ricey:lol: on the other hand alot of people wouldnt even really notice if the stock cb7 jdm headlights were us or stock but they would notice the headlight projectors.

if you like the headlights, that's fine by me. i just think that it's asinine for them to labeled as jdm. a 1-piece headlight for the cb7 is not necessarily jdm, but a jdm headlight for the cb7 is 1-piece. :D

and "altezza style" taillights of course are not jdm. the true jdm tails for the cb7 are hideous: cb7 jdm tails (http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=790)
even copping some tails from an is300 isn't truly jdm, since only the engine originates in japan. but alas, i'm digressing.

too many items have been labeled jdm which clearly are not.

I agree to many items are labeled JDM which aren't. But don't forget to important CB7 facts. JDM CB7 Si Coupes come with two-peice headlights like the USDM only they have the same stanley clear corners that the European coupes have.

Also the crome trimed tail lights are only 90/91.

What I don't know is if the JDM two-peices are nippleless like the European ones.

I agree with you guy's 100% but those civic guys have the JDM boom the worst. $75 for a damn jdm clock or a jdm ash tray. Some jdm shit is cool, but others are a waste of time, trying to obtain and a waste of $$$. Cb7 1-piece headlight, folding mirror, climate controls are cool, but jdm seatbelts, coin holder, air vent and any other stupid shit gets on my nerves. Also why do they call the 1-piece projectors "JDM" (with their shitty light output), or on ebay "JDM" coilovers but their made in CALi wtf.

My main hatred is for ebay sellers who put annoying shit in their titles like "NOT JDM", just so they can whore their crap to those who are searching for actual JDM items. (I know this is not just for JDM stuff, but I'm staying on-topic.)

most everything is labeled JDM or jdm type now, jdm isnt that great to begin with and now the boom is just making it worse, i understand a few things, 1 piece headlights (Woohoo?) Wutever its just a stock look.. but yes like a JDM Rear view mirror or a JDM arm rest, wth does that shit matter?.. i mean im not ognna go on a rant cus i know peeps like that stuff but i mean.. its not like super original..

A lot of tiny things like coin trays and armrests are cool. You take the time and money to order it(which may not seem worth it at the time), put it on your car, and in the end, sit back and admire your car for having something that sets you apart from everyone else trying to modify a CB7. Besides, it's an internal thing too. Japan watered down every car they ever sent over here, with the exception of 2. Putting their parts on our cars is almost like a way to "beat the system".
