when my front plate got owned on the freeway, i ran without one for 2 weeks. many of my buddies run without one too but they eventually get caught down the line. you can get away with it most of the time. i just don't want to give cops a reason to pull me over. then they can find something else "illegal" when they do so (when it really isn't ;) ). also, if ever i get pulled over for something else, i don't want them to put a "no front plate" citation in addition to the other citation. politics...

dang i went to phoenix AZ this past weekend and was amazed that most cars, even at the dealerships, didn't have front plates. the only cars that did have plates were from out of state, such as cali. this made me mad at cali for having such a stupid law. it made all the cars look better, and i always hated it when the dealer would drill holes into the front bumper to put a plate. it should be the customer's choice to put it on or not. and if the customer decided on not putting one, there will be two unslightly holes! whackness i tells ya! so quit reading and sign the petition.

I'm from Michigan, but work in Ohio. Ohio has same front plate law. I view it as another way the state can get more money from you. I agree it doesn't help with looks, but everytime you re-register your plates, costs more too!

I don't know about your state but, here its 78 bucks for a sticker, plates are basically free(First time only), and 78 bucks to get a new sticker every year, since we only need a rear sticker.
