Well since our compression is so low on the f22 I figured I would just go ahead and use regular fuel (88 octane). I think it is too low though because it feels like my timing is retarding a little bit and I'm getting minor engine knock every once in a while at idle. I was just wondering what would be the optimal fuel to use on my engine. I have been looking into tolune and boosting my octane for racing, but with such low compression would I even notice a difference in power? For anyone who is knowledgable on this subject, what kind of octance do you run in your car on a daily basis and when drag racing?

personaly I most of the time use 94 but i do have a friend who races cars and he has some 100 and 120 cotane that i sometimes use i do feel a change in the way the engine runs but no real power gains

89 octane should be fine for F22A engine, I even used 87 octance and it run just fine, I do notice that some brand are better then other for 87 octane, I use exxon, shell and mobil 1.

Now I'm running min 93, lucky it not too expensive now

Hmmm... which gas brand is better Chevron, Tesoro, or Shell? I personally use Chevron. Man the gas prixes here in Hawaii is pretty messed up like $2.25/gal for Supreme 92 Octane.

My accord isn't chipped, but it is modded... I wasn't sure if it would even be worth it to run high octance gas when I'm racing.

sorry to say but probably not. on the other hand a h22a jspec is almost the same as runnin 93 octane in japan they have 100 octane you really wont feel the power it really has.
