im plannin on gettin an h22a1 for my cb7 (smog reasons)
im just curious how well would it perform against an 97+ prelude..
i know our bodies are lighter.. but from experience.. what do you guys think?
i just wanna be as fast as a prelude...so people would be like "damn that accord can keep up!"

Okay bro imma break it down to you like this get a h22a jspec. it has slightly more compression if you want to do the allmotor thing like me it will come in handy. On top of that there are ways of getting around smoghave them talk to mr. *money* and MRS *bribe* wink* wink* you should have no problems jsut find someone to pay it .
Its not like cops are gonna roll up on just to shove a plug up your muffler on tha spot and shit. Your should have no problem runnin a prelude and beating em with mods or stock for stock. Not everyone is the same its about money and how fast are you willing to go which really = how much you willing to invest.

Well you could very well be as fast if not faster but you won't preform like a 97+ Prelude. Don't try to compare the 4th gen against a care with the benefit of close to seven years of engineering evolution.
The 5th gen Prelude is one bad ass car but yes you could most likely beat it in a str8 line. Now if curbs, turns, and stopping come up you're talking a different story. Plus it's newer and probably nicer inside (updated).
If you can afford it buy the Lude. If not the 4th gen.

i can get a h22a anytime i want.. but yea.. i dont want to go through the hastle of smog.. my car is somewhat a cop magnet cuz ive already been pulled over and inspected a couple of times.. theyve seen my engine bay so they havnt sent me to the smog ref yet.. but yea.. i just dont wanna go through the trouble of pigs makin my life harder.. even if it costs money.. money that can go to more mods.. plus daygo has a special police force *dragnet* that hunts down imports
im just going a decent fast.. not hardcore.. but some giddy up

bro get used to it they are gonna fuck with you and check your car out its a honda cops are known to fuck with us and its also called racial profiling if you see them following you just ride it out and act like your pullin into a driveway turn the car off and walk away theyll leave to the local doghnut shop they love inspecting cars hoping they find something as long as the engine is legit they cant fuckin touch you.
I got searched a couple of times they are a bunch of ***s who are doing their jobs theyre doin it so great that there are still drugdealers around my corner they are to pussy to fuck with them because they have better aim than they do

just asking, if you want to be as fast as a prelude how come you're trying to put air ride and 18's? Also do you have a big body kit? just asking so keep it cool!

I agree. I personaly have crushed many h22 prelude from 93 models to 97+ models when my car was all motor. Plus nothing is better then beating someone in a damn accord, what can the opponent say, their no excuse. But i had a lot of work done and learned how to launch that damn h22, you can have all the power in the world but if you can drive the car correctly you can make a quick car seem very slow and give h22 accord's a bad rep. Hell i know of guy that call them selves the best drivers but still dump the clutch at the line and spin the tires all day instead of feathering it to get traction, or thing that 'churping" the tires means they going fast.

I can tell you from experience that The h22a cb7 will beat the h22a Prelude, granted you have the prelude tranny to go with the engine. I can spank a 5th gen prelude with the same mods as mine because of better gearing on my setup.

WHy an H22a1?? If you get an H22a, you should (with good driving capabilities) be able to beat the prelude with a few minor bolt-ons. But everything in the "racing" aspect depends on the driver! With my H22a, I beat a guy in a prelude, and he was impressed. I had more done then just some bolt ons though. Tuning is also a big thing. If you get some cam gears, and an afc, you can tune that car pretty damn good, and get low time slips.
I know a local guy who tuned his H22 (in perfect weather conditions, and good driving) to get a 13.7@101 in a 93 prelude with just cam gears, header, intake, exhaust, and afc.
