I had installed a pioneer cd player on my car and worked great. A couple of days ago i was driving toward my school and i wanted to raise the volume when i was playing a cd but the volume would raise and no other buttons worked. I remove it, unplugged it and plugged it back in and the the cd player wouldnt start all. I removed it thinking that i was busted and tried installin another pioneer cassette player i had before it but the unit wont work. the only way it will work is if i connected the acc cable (the red cable that is controled by the on and off switch) from the head unit directly to the 12volt cable coming in from the car but it stays on all the time. Could it be that the cable is messed up? If anyone can help me id really appreachiated.

i herad people blowing their remote wire in their accords...the red ignition iwire to the deck....

u may just have to run another line if thats the case...do u have a tester that u can test wires? what u can do is test that wire to see if it gets power when the car is on. if not find a power wire that is on when the car is on, i think the lighter does this but im not sure exactly...

check the fuses though, there is a battery fuse insde the car, sometimes on the wire...and one in the engine compartment...
