now i know this is a VERY simple thing to do, but i'd thought i'd post it anyways. if i can do this, anybody can.
i dont know about other 4th gens, but my wiper arms were looking very old and faded (probly because my car has sat outside for 11 years), so i decided to paint them.
http://members.shaw.ca/grwallace1/Accord/Wipers/wipers-beforea.jpeg
/\ see faded areas
i used a flat black paint to keep the stock look, but i'm sure you could paint them any color you wanted.
http://members.shaw.ca/grwallace1/Accord/Wipers/wipers-4a.jpeg
1. first unscrew the bolt holding each wiper:
http://members.shaw.ca/grwallace1/Accord/Wipers/wipers-1a.jpeg
2. clean them thoroughly (i used brake cleaner, then rinsed them off, and dried them off)
3. paint them. i didnt use spray paint so i didnt have to separate the actual wipers from the wiper arms. i put on about 3 coats, waiting about 15 mins between coats.
http://members.shaw.ca/grwallace1/Accord/Wipers/wipers-3a.jpeg
4. put them back on.
-makes them look like new again:

http://members.shaw.ca/grwallace1/Accord/Wipers/wipers-aftera.jpeg
after about a year, the paint is hasnt faded one bit, and they still look great.
Items required:
-outdoor paint meant for metal
-paintbrush
-i cant remember what size socket to take off the bolts, but it was really easy
Good one, just make sure you line them back up when putting them on...use white out to mark how they sit on the bolts or something. Mine are off by maybe 2 teeth, and when im goin over 60 and using the wipers on the fastest, it smacks into the chrome molding around the window.

I did the same thing to mine, well when I first got my car I removed what was left of the black paint and polished the arms. After getting blinded so often I decided to spray them, so I put on about 3 coats of flat and one final coat of gloss, and it came out pretty good. Also I took off that stupid wiper wing thing. I think the nuts are 14mm, but i really dont remember...also this is how I lined my wipers back up, drive in the rain for a day and dont wash your car, then take the wipers off and you'll be able to see the wipers paths, so when you go to put them back on, just line it up with the dirt line from the wipers.

when you brush on the paint, wont you get the lines showing?
and what that stupid wiper visor thing anyways.....it seems to make me ponder
what if i spray the blades....lightly on the moving parts...will that be ok?

yeah it looks like he has brush lines on his...
and when i got my car i was confused about that ugly looking visor on the arm... my dad said it helped for highway driving, the wind pushes down on it and it pushes the blade against the window better.
im gonna do the same... just spray the whole freaking thing, but lightly on the moving parts. i think ull be ok- im gonna do light coats, and im gonna move the parts in between each coat, to make sure it doesnt get stuck.

what about the moving parts melt? did they stiffen up?
im talking about the blade area that holds the blade..not the area that holds the wiper

I did this awhile ago on my car. Great results, there are streaks from brushing it on, but it doesnt really matter becuase it does not look near as bad as it did before. It survived winter, no fading or chipping on the paint. :)

Hrm, maybe i'm just not getting it, I took the main bolts off each wiper, but neither one wants to come off even with a lot of force. Do I have to take them off specially?
Edit: Got the arms off, but now im stumped as how to get the blade assembly off...
Edit #2: Haha, im an idiot, dont mind me, I got it.

Thanks for a very good Diy. Since I am brand new to your forum (from ACW) I found that you guys share more tips than them all. I have a 1992 Silver LX and thankful for the devotion to it on this site! Got to paint those wipers!

Good DIY, I just took my blades off and painted away; I also taped off the underside with the spring (optional). I believe the bolt can be removed using a 10mm (I think most of bolts on the car use this bolt  ).
I did mine about a year ago and still holding up well

I've sprayed both my CB7 and my inlaw's 95 Civic's wiper arms over 2 years ago using black satin finish engine paint. Apart from a few rock nicks they're holding up very well.

Thanks so much for the info on how to paint the wipers! Haven't done it yet, but my 4th gen wagon really needs to have it done. I hope the post stays there for future DIY's. I for one didn't know you could paint them.

Probably one of the easiest and least expensive things you can do to your car to make it look better. Good DIY, BTW. I did everything as per outlined in the write-up and everything came out great. :tu: :tu: The paint holds up surprisingly well. I used rustoleum no-gloss paint and some white primer, in case anyone was wondering.

nice one...i need to do this on mine too..since my wiper arms are all faded...the last time i did it was with a black sharpie marker...that was a stupid thing to do cuz it just got worst...worst meaning ugly! haha but yeah since its all faded and since my friend gave me a black paint specifically for metal..THANKS for that good DIY !

drucifer92 taking the wiper arms are simple..just push down on the joint that connects the 2 piece arm together...while your pushing down it should get loose, take the wiper arm off and it should come off...i did mine an hour ago and its a good one...looks new.. i made mine carbon fiber look...

Aha just did this, and it looks go, well i think it looks good, used sprat paint so i separated the rubber from the metal parts, took a me while to figure out how to do it, just take out those little metal strips first and its easy, well hope everyone else who did this, it turned out well

Great DIY Wallace ... I did this also, quite awhile ago.. and so far, so good. :tu:
I actually sprayed all the moving parts .. but I *did* remove the rubber. I never had issues
with the moving parts *sticking* .. they're pretty tuff. My only issue was re-installing them ...
I kept hitting the drivers side against the hood .. and messing up my *professional Paint Job*...
:bouncy:
well when I first got my car I removed what was left of the black paint
and polished the arms. After getting blinded so often I decided to spray them.
Oiii ... lmao man .. they're pretty blinding as they are, when they're just faded away.
Huge diff.. when I did spray them .. I also used a non glossy flat black finish ... much better.
Good one, just make sure you line them back up when putting them on.
Grrr ... Brandon, mine still hit that damn chrome trim as well ... ehh, one day soon. :tu:

Doing this right now, but i'll prolly have to redo cuz of all the rain outside. Hopefully I wont get blinded anymore cuz that was just annoying. I had to use a hammer (nail remover side) in order to get them off the bolts. I'm using a krylon interior/exterior semi gloss paint to do it. Hope it'll last through a new york winter.

i did this right when i bought the car, used model paint and an airbrush. it worked pretty well. i just took the wipers off. also, when doing this, dont forget to rotate the arm at the hinged joint to bring the wipers about 45* off the window. the arms have lock inside of them to keep the arms on, and this is how you open the lock. i wouldnt advise using a claw hammer like was posted above.

that's wierd, mine has lasted for almost 3 years.
and I live in Vancouver, where it rains practically 2/3's of the year.
