I need to get my timing belt done ASAP, water pump has began leaking. Is there any shops in the orlando area that work on honda and acura only with genuine OEM honda parts and that would know about the seal retainer. I did a search on yahoo and found Orlando Honda Acura Specialist Inc., does anybody know if they are any good with the work they do as in timing belts?

You will have a fun time w/the swap. You dont want just any shop to do it. You'll need to find a shop that has experience with swaps. I know you prolly knew that, just wanted to make sure. Did you install the engine? cuz its not too hard, although on the h22's I think you'll have to pull the motor, at least it didnt look like enough space last time i looked. Then again having a lift would make it much easier.

it shouldnt be any harder than a normal timing belt, if they can do a timing belt on a 92-95 prelude vtec they can do it on an accord with the same motor.

Yeah, I know.. but tahts the thing. Most shops wont touch a hybrid car since they dunno all of whats in it, and they dont want to be liable.

You pull your car into most shops, they are like ok.. until you say that its got another engine from a different car, then they just dont want the hassle since many times, people half ass it, and then they would have to worry about that crap. It isnt worth it to them, and i dont blame them.

Of the shops that will touch it, you have the people that do swaps, and know what you are doing, and then you have the people that think.. yeah, we can do it, its just a timing belt. The h22 in the cb7 leaves a bit less space, one thing for sure is that I know you cannot take off the upper timing belt cover(at least with the valve cover on, since there isnt more than an inch to move it away from the engine).

I asked a related question on this forum not that long ago with little luck. I have a friend out here who recomended a Honda specialist shop recently to get my car dropped. Apperently the guys who run it all have modded civics. I don't have the name of the shop yet but when I call them, I'll ask them if they do hybrids for you and let you know.

OK. The name of the shop is "All Version". Thier phone number is 407-228-8282. Address is 3830 Curry Ford Road. The Guy I talked to is named Pi-Kay(??spelling??). I found out they do all sorts of hybrid work. They supposedly put a K-20 in an old civic hatchback.

I asked them about your car and he said that they will definitly do it but they could not give me a price because they would have to look at it. They seem pretty knowledgable though. Pi-Kay did say that the timing belt is a little tricky with your set-up. If what aero3685 said about the upper timing belt cover is true, I would get them to leave it off.

If you decide to go out there, Let me know and I'd like to go there with you. They gave me a good price to drop my car but they need to look at mine as well to get a price on the bushings and axles that I'm getting replaced at the same time.

Also, He told me that they are really busy all the time so he said after the mechanics look at the car, you'll have to set an appointment. I hope your car is not on its last leg. Another thing - It seems like this guy want you to have all the parts ready when you go out there.

I hope this helps! :tu:
