Does anyone have the exact location for the JDM side markers? Also, will the Mugen radiator cap fit the factory F22A6 Denso dual fan radiator? Thanks.

My understanding is those are the exact specs for the CB3, the CB7 never came with side markers. I haven't installed mine yet but I'll probably have the body shop do it when I get the whole car painted.

So there's no side markers on 2 doors? I saw some on a 4 door before...it looked cool...

cb7 = US, no side markers, cb3 = japan.

I actually worded that worng. I meant that there are side markers on the Japanese 2 doors? I've seen them on Japanese 4 doors. I have a USDM 2 door...I know there's no side markers...:D :lol:

okay i know this thread is ancient but i was confused by the above picture...is it meant to be measuing to the center of the sidemarker or are the arrows just drawn funny and are supposed to be pointing to the edges of the marker?

they are drawn to where the bulb would actually be after mounting them.

i dont remember where but someone asked a while ago if the prelude 92-96 had the same sidemarkers and they were said as to be the same i come to find out today that they are not when i got my jdm prelude sidemarkers and compared them to the accord ones i have both sets because the clips on my accord set is broken so i found prelude ones cheap and ordered them the prelude ones are like 3/8 of an inch longer im still not sure which ones i will be using yet

YES prelude and EK sidemarkers are different from CB. they are longer.

http://www.optauto.com/images/oas-sm.gif
from top going clockwise: EK civic or prelude 92-up, DA and DC integ and s2k, EG civic, EF civic or crx, CB accord.
(Notice the slight difference in length with the CB and the EK/prelude.)

the pic and info was taken from this thread. look at my post at #6.

i got some jdm ones off ebay. but damn, that's a big hole to cut in the fender, i thought it would be like, you drill a little hole for the wiring or something, not cutout this huge piece. did those of you who did it, seal the raw edge of the metal with some paint to keep it from rusting...should you live in a place that has bad winters like montreal..? and does the marker just clip into the hole? yes i aw aware how old this thread is.

Its not an official template but the dimensions are on the site somewhere I already printed them off. It shows 2 pics one with the dimensions of where the sidemarker goes in relation to the fender and wheelwell and the other of the sidemarker cutout dimensions themselves. I'll see if I can find a link to the pics.

they're not referring to the position of the sidemarker, but the template for the actual cut out in the fender for the sidemarker itself. apparently people no longer can be ingenious enough to trace the back portion of the sidemarker itself in order to make their own template.

I made a template out of cardboard but its not that great, and Im still scared to start drilling and cutting.But Im going to try yet another body shop to see if they will take on the job.Three body shops wouldnt do it because they werent sure of their work and didnt want to ruin my fender and be out hundreds of dollars to replace stuff... :thumbsdwn ohwell ill just keep tryin or end up doing it myself.

if you can use a dremel, it's pretty easy...if you use the nibblers, it's a little more time consuming but doesn't require as steady a hand as using the dremel.

I completely agree with uncle el. How hard is it to draw your own? Well thanks for getting that up for the people that need it. I don't see how people are confident enough to cut up thier fender, but not enough to draw a square on paper.....

1st. you hadn't posted anything in this thread before me. so, i'm unclear as to how anything i wrote was directed towards you.
2nd. i didn't think i was flaming anybody. just giving you a bit of food for thought. people have put on sidemarkers on their cars before this template was available.

3rd. this template is from whatever sidemarker you have... which at this point is assumed to be that of a cb7... hopefully yours is from a cb7, and anyone using this template will have a sidemarker from a cb7... but if they have a sidemarker from an eg, eh, cd but don't know it, then someone may find themselves in a situation they were hoping to avoid (cutting the fender more than necessary).

4th. i hope that the members who requested the template find it useful.

However they do NOT read. I said I don't see how people are confident enough to cut up thier fender, but not enough to draw a square on paper.....

Maybe I should rewrite it....How do you figure you can cut a hole in your hundreds-of-dollars-fenders but cant figure out how to simply draw a square on your $.02 paper and cut it out? If it were me and I couldn't figure out how to draw squares on dispensable paper I wouldn't risk ruining my fenders. No hard feelings, but seriously where is the train of thought on this? I do agree that a template would be helpful, but people have been doing this for years....

Furthermore if a body shop is afraid of doing something as simple as this then I would definately avoid taking anything to them in the future.

s2000 sidemarkers != accord sidemarkers != civic sidemarkers

template looks nice, but a lot of ppl might start cutting the wrong sized hole if they follow it.

take an old cereal box, cut a side out, use a ruler and measure the sidemarker, and draw it onto the cardboard. cut it out until the lense fits snug, then trace it on the fender.

why is that so hard?

ok,
*uncle el - sorry if that came out as me being a dick, i just kinda posted the same thing "LX Rida" posted and you locked the thread dude to " my lack of common sence"...the way i see it, why risk effing something up if someone might have the answer/key in the form of a .jpg file?

and just like "excalibur02" said, please, and i repeat, PLEASE dont just print and use this, use the saying "measure twice, cut once" i too made about 40 templates with an old cerial box before i got it nice a snug...also, make the template a little bit smaller then needed...its always easyer to widen a hole, then have it too big...

again, sorry to all for coming off like an asshole. it wasnt intended.

i too got mine from that dude in new zealand months ago, although one marker was missing the clip. i find the accompanying template with them to be too small, and also are backwards, the way they are directed according to him are to have the more bulbous end facing forward, but all of you, including the pic of an actually JDM fender clearly show the narrow side facing forward like a wedge. i traced his template exactly on thin solid carboard and i had to enlarge it a few mm and turn the design around, because they contradict the directions in the first page of this post. so seeing how many of us got markers from the newzealand guy, don't use his template unless you want your markers on backwards and have to enlarge the hole considerably on both edges at even incriments as not to offset the proper position amd keep it centered.

actually i contacted him and told him that is templates are upside down and showed him the other pic. and also i told him that one of my markers didn't come with a clip and asked if he could send a spare clip if he had along with one of his auctions i plan on winning.....and then he told me he'd send me a whole entire marker regardless if i win the auction or not. he really is a good dude....and with something like 860 feedbacks, all 100% positive that's pretty impresive....especially being in new zealand where he's usually always have to ship anything accross the globe, still no problems.

Is it inches or centimeters? :confused: The picture says 8.5cm X 9.75cm and you are going to use 3in X 7in?

8.5cm = 3.346in and 9.75cm = 3.838in
