Yes you can. Rule of thumb..........run half the crank your engine is pushing. Search would of been great becuase there's been alot about this. Yeah, Micksf22accord has been running a 75 shot on stock internals and he's been fine so far.

If you are just planing to run the nitrous kit, with no other "support" parts I would stay around a 50 shot. Once you start going up in the shot range, other parts must be purchased in order for you to A: get the most performance out of your engine..and B. ensure the safety of your engine... Also you have to think of the limit if your kit..dry has far more limitations and less tunability than a wet system... So there are a few factors you need to calculate into the equation before you install the nitrous kit and begin pumping up the shots...

I would say 50 shot to be on the safe side. I was going to hook up my kit but decided not to because I don't want anything to go wrong with my perfect motor. Heck I was going to do a 35 shot to be extra safe (all I wanted was an extra little boost). If your going to get a kit get ZEX. Safest out there. How much power do you want to make?

a lot thats the problem im going 2 have to build my motor to hold at least 150 shot

Why are you aiming for a 150 shot?

^^ Yeah the more I thought about it, I was wondering the same thing. It's going to cost alot to build for that power. Go turbo if you want more power.

I'm not trying to discourage you or anything..I was just curious. Be aware that it will cost you some green to build a motor that will withstand a 150 shot, not to mention the actual nitrous kit is expensive (direct port kit)...

I'm sorry...but there is no way to hide your lines when you are running a direct port setup, not unless you put your nozzels on the underside of the IM which would make it impossible to replace jets and tune

your a ricer.
your going to have to remove the intake manifold everytime to change the jets. not worth it imo. if i were you i would just start off with a basic fogger kit...run a 50 shot and see how you like it...then if you want more...take a step up but dont go straight to 150shot...your question was how much a stock motor can take...but you wanna fully build it for 150 shot??
search around here for more info...check out some other forums and learn about nitrous first.

I put a 75 shot on a d16z6 motor and sprayed like 5 times aday, it was very much overkill but it didnt matter it was fun as hell.

Thats cool..but there is a huge difference in 75 and 150 shot, both in systems and in support/necessary hardware...

Im well aware of the huge difference, I was not reffering to anyone using a 150 shot i was just sharing what my single can did on the juice with a 75.

Has everyone forgotten 93Accord running a 125 shot on a stock bottom end?
and I wouldn't say ricer... Wouldn't a ricer want the nitrous lines out for everyone to see...I've seen soem pretty slick hidden stuff and attempts to hide stuff from hardcore racers.. although personally I'd just make a sheild or something to go over the top of the mani to hide everything... and paint or tape up everything black...
It's not impossible... it's just gonna be a pain in the ass climbing under the car to change jets on the underside of the manifold...

Best of luck with your 150 shot setup.... I can't wait to see how you "hide" all of the components.....

I hope you are planning on progressive, because if not EVERYONE will know you have spray when the wheels break loose at 75 miles an hour because of the jolt. And chances are even if you have a progressive spray, with 150, you just CANT hide the smell. Everyone will know!!!

Hey 150 shot is my goal. (damnit, first there was a spider in the kitchen, now ants here and some flying bug.)
It's gonna take money, time, and knowledge but my goal is a fully built H22 with a 150ish shot. Definately progressive; the works. This is solely for drag racing, if and when I get the money and time to fully transform my car. I would be happy with 12's in the 1/4 but how sweet would it be to hit 11's with a nitrous setup on my 15 year old parents car. Now i be dreaming again.

50shot is prob the most i would go, remember the engine will wear out real fast if u keep pressing the nice red button. lol upgrade fuel and air and spark and u will be alset for 75shot. anymore and the internals will have to be changed.

i agree 50shot wet would be the safer bet.
yeah, people aren't dumb. they'll figure it out, and with that 150shot, good luck hiding the bottle. if you get a small bottle, you will run out of shots before the night is over, a big bottle will be damned near impossible to stash.

It might be possible to cram, say, ten 5 pounders under the rear seat, drug-runner style. Although....the 50 pounds of cylinder, plus the weight of the gas will make for a good chunk of poundage there. Trust me, even fifty pounds makes a huge difference. I run .09 seconds faster when I pull the twin 12" subs from the trunk.
But yeah, run the lines underneath the intake manifold and replace Your cruise control switches with nitrous switches, and You could be set. Although make sure anyone who might drive Your car knows You've got nitrous instead of cruise control  (that's a long story involving a friend's Jetta that is no more)

That created such a funny visual.
If I ever had the money I would just use F22xx like water until they blew for my Nitrous setup, since they're so cheap. It would be like crack. So addicting yet so stupid.

BTW someone might what to let this guy know that he might want to look into replacing that old ass fuel pump that our cars have!
wouldnt want it to go out and go boom now would we!
first off. is this on a H22 or F22
H22 = 100 shot be ok
F22 = 100 shot be pushing it
all i know is if he gets trigger happy and starts sprayin all the time
i give 3 weeks no matter what engine!
KABOOM
you might want to read on how nitrous works first too instead of just thinking of how fast it will make you!

A quick rule of thumb is that You're usually safe if You use 50% or less of Your non-juiced horsepower. More than that and You're starting to push the engine tolerences

I installed a friends dry nitrous kit on my accord this weekend and had a few questions. It is a 50ish dry shot. Has anyone here done this? I am betting it exceeds the duty cycles of the injectors. also, what would be the first thing to go? Head Gasket? I have never had an f22 apart and really have no idea what I'm doing  I am more of a domestic car type of guy, but i really love my accord :tu:

50ish shot should be ok on stock injectors.....
If You're upgrading anything, though, You might want to make them the first thing.
As for what would go first.....I've seen head gaskets, valve springs, and even valves themselves die first from being overworked by nitrous, although like I said above, as long as You're spraying <50% of Your non-bottled horsepower, You're probably going to be ok for a good long time.
