I need Help Quick

How do I take an aftermarket cd player out of my accord. My father had an AIWA cd headunit installed a couple years ago and now he wants me to take it out. What is the quickest and easiest way to remove this? Also, what tools willl I need? Thanks

if it was bolted in from the bottom like the stock radio was (it really should be) then u need to remove the black plastic dash trim- i think theres like 12 screws. remove the center console (the one w/ the shifter and ebrake) by taking out the few screws on the sides, then take out the dash trim screws. from what i remmeber: 2 above the radio, one at the top of each vent, 2 above the guages, one behind the coin tray, check behind each switch like the dimmer knob and cruise ctrl switch etc, and also some behind the ash tray and cig lighter.

take the 3 screws out of the bottom of the steering column cover to pull the top half off, and the dash trim should lift off. then theres a goldish bolt or 2 underneath the box under the radio holding it down- take those out and the radio should pull out forward.

I asked one person and they said something about a DIN removal tool. Do u know anything about that?

easyest way.... slip off the rectangular ring around the cd player off

get two screw drivers... stick on in the left side, one on the right side AND BAM! you got your self an uninstalled CD PLAYER!

the keys kings blend is talking about happens to be the DIN removal tool...can find the keys almost anywhere:

radios need a special tool to be removed called a DIN removal tool. Some have been able to do this with coat hanger but it's worth the trip to Wal-Mart and the $2.50 to get the right tool. These are two U-shaped pieces of metal with tabs on the ends. You push them into the holes on your stock radio until they click in. Then push them out away from each other (towards the doors--the pic below is WRONG!) to release the radio and pull it out. It's that simple.

the keys themselves do vary though, for aftermarket and stock.

if u cant, u can probably shove some thin screw drivers on the side of the deck and pull it out...

thats what i do cause some people dont have the keys...and i pull it out....

u should try curving a section of a clothes hanger and using that.

if you don't have the key to pull the deck out....go to a local shop and ask for a sony key cause sony makes awia and they use the same key....should pull out in like 5 seconds

Will this pull out method with two screwdrivers work without breaking anthing on my Sony HD?I jus got my amp and sub installed and it died after 20min and I need to check the connection in the back of the HDand cant figure how to get it out.
