thanks man...
the mugen lip actually wasn't as hard to install as i thought it was gonna be. i basically had to drill new holes in the lip (to match the holes for the stock lip), hacksaw about an inch or so off of the edges of the lip, bend the ends of the lip a little bit when bolting it on.
i think there is a DIY on this in the DIY forum, but i think i'm also going to do my version also. it's not real hard though.

for all those who want a mugen lip, go by this guide:
for 90-91 owners, get a 94-95 Mugen style Lip
for 92-93 owners, geta 96-97 Mugen style Lip
it just seems that its easier if you do it that way, or so I've heard from the Mugen King (ZigenBallz from Accord Tuner)

shouldn't really be any different. i have the 94-95, and it wasn't too hard to fit. personally, i would reccomend the 94-95 lip for ALL 4th gens (based on my experience with it)

well VIS and Fiber Images hoods tend to fit well.. you can tweak how the hood sits by messing with the screws that hold the hood on the hinges...

yeah... i did have some problems with the hood though. it wouldn't close for awhile there, because VIS welded the hood hinge on the hood a bit too far back... and it wasn't latching. i eventually had to move the actual latch forward by putting a few washers behind it... and i also had to use a dremel tool to shave a little bit off of the hood hinge. now it closes fine.
also.. the hood actually still sits a bit higher on one side than the other. it's not really that noticeable though, unless you're nose to nose with it.
i have learned one thing though - your stock hood is going to fit better than most aftermarket hoods, even with it being VIS and tweaking the hinge positions. it really doesn't bother me too much though.

actually, i don't carry that color combo throughout the inside of my car. i don't have any other pics right now, but the car's interior is just the stock navy blue and grey. the dash trim is the only part i've painted white as of now. i'm actually selling that dash trim, if anyone wants to buy it. i'll probably post it up in the classifieds forum here soon with more pictures and information.

well, the look of the system is hardly what makes it the best mod ever. i love the sound of the WS. it sounds very smooth and quiet... almost like one of those stock audi or bmw exhausts. it really deters the cops - because it doesn't make your car sound like the typical 'rice burner'. it's got a nice tone to it ... like i said, very subtle though. i've also noticed a definite performance gain... ALL throughout the powerband. the acceleration (in any gear) is much smoother and it seems as though the accelerator is a bit more touchy... i don't have to mash the pedal as far to pick up some speed anymore.
i think that the catback optimized my dc sports header performance also. i might even bolt up a test pipe soon... maybe i can get some more flow and a tad bit more sound from the system. i think i'm also going to try and hang the exhaust even higher. because the hangers i'm using for the a'pexi right now are the same hangers i used for my previous muffler. so, i might buy even shorter ones.
it's a great system though. i love it. :luv:

yeah i liked how it looked, but that was just a muffler - and it was hella loud and raspy. i didn't want to bother with custom piping and stuff... i just wanted a system that was specifically made for the CB7.

So, you customized it so it would hang higher? Could you explain what you did? Did you weld hangers onto the hangers that already were on the canister? Also, the World Sport canister has hangers already welded onto it, right?

well, i haven't done anything to make it hang higher yet. that's how its hanging right now just using my old rubber hangers.

i'm going to go buy shorter rubber hangers and put them on in a few days though. that will probably make it sit a little higher. i'll let you guys know how that turns out.. and i'll get pics.
yes, the metal hook type hangers were already welded onto the canister when it came.

ran my tread down on the two front nitto tires, and don't have the 250 dollars for a new set and getting them mounted and balanced. plus, it's just about winter time... and i'm gonna try and keep the konigs out of the nasty weather this year. so... i threw on my stock 15" EX wheels that i've painted black.

yeah i thought about doin the all-red tails.
your grill shouldn't fit any different. you are using the stock one, right?
i just took my chrome strips off and cut out that skinny, middle black piece that runs across the center grill housing (used a hacksaw). then i used this grill mesh i bought and cut it to the size and shape of the grill housing... then i used metal tie wraps to hold it onto the grill. finally, i painted my mesh black.
i'm still working on putting my strips back on. i painted them black... and i'm gonna put them back on, and then mount my mesh behind the grill housing instead of in front of it like how i have it now.
anyways, i don't have any up close pics... but i don't see why the fitament would change, because it shouldn't.

thanks for the compliments guys. the manual conversion is definitely the next mod on my list. i'll probably be doing this sometime this spring. i'm considering bolting up an h22a (jdm or usdm) 5 speed tranny. this way, whenever i save up enough money for the engine swap... the transmission will already be set up and ready. i'm still not sure yet though.

well.. right now i'm using my stock oem cat for daily driving. i only bolt on my highflow/straight pipe cat when i go to the track to race. i think it may help a little bit. the only reason i don't daily drive with it on is because it makes the exhaust sound a little louder and high pitched, and also because of emissions.

well, it depends on whether or not you have access to a lift or not. on a lift, yeah - about 10 minutes. but, if you try to change them out in your driveway jacked up or on jackstands... man... it takes me like an hour or so. it's not fun working with that much space; you can't get any leverage when your turning the bolts and it's harder to fit the cat back in between the downpipe and midpipe.

yeah, he bought a set of red & clear taillights. i can't buy ANY aftermarket tails period... because they don't make them to fit the coupes. the tails are designed differently on the coupes. i guess i could paint the amber area of the tails red... and leave the clear reverse part - but i don't know if i'd like that better than just leaving them stock.

I love your car... so clean and simple. I've been thinking about buying another coupe for a long time now, and I would definitely build it up in the same manner.
I had the sedan trunk lid conversion on my car for a short time, but I forgot to switch it out when I took it to the bodyshop. They started on my car a little early and had already cut up the sedan trunk to install the R33 tailights. It sucks, I should have kept it, but now I'm stuck with an extra coupe trunk. Oh well, lesson learned.

Oh well, lesson learned.
thanks for the compliment renegade. that sucks about the trunk lid... i know it's gotta be hard to sell off the coupe lids too (since everyone wants to do the sedan conversion).

b00st it is. 14g (td05) turbo w/ a tyrus FMIC, custom mandrel bent piping, and some other 1g DSM goodies. should be installed as soon as i get out of school this May - hopefully along with the h23 tranny swap... but i'll have to see if funds allow.

it's actually just the stock OEM spoiler that came on it. if you wanted to purchase one, you would probably have to find it at the honda dealership (expect to pay some $), or at a junkyard.
P M : thanks.... your cb7 would look great with a carbon fiber hood - take lots of pictures if you ever get one
sorry accordtunerx, i sold most of the turbo kit. all i have left is a 96-00 civic dual gauge pod, NGK BKR6E spark plugs (1step colder), and a DSM test pipe.
i'd be glad to sell anything u need above. if u need any help on the kit, i have most of the info to install it and the Do's and Dont's on turbos (past EG coupe turbo experiences). oh and i know someone who's already did this install too. u know where to reach me, later!

ha, thanks for posting the pics elliot. you're always ontop of the game when it comes to keeping everyone updated.
and yeah... we had been working on the swap for a few days carlos... so i hadn't been online. it was just straight working each day. but there are some kinks that i need to work out. i'm not sure if you've seen my other thread in the "swaps" forum or not... but i'm missing the fast idle valve that bolts to the throtle body... and i think the ecu needs a little re-wiring... i'm getting an engine code for EGR... and it runs a little rough... which is probably due to all of the hoses disconnected around my intake and throttle body... but who knows. hopefully i'll have some time to do some troubleshooting this weekend.
but the vtec should be screaming by the time of the meet on the 20th :)

www.autodynamic.com : the lenses don't fit our cars though because they are exact replicas of the jdm two-piece headlight corner lenses - which you also have to modify. i had to basically fabricate a new bracket for the corner lense and cut some plastic off of the back of the lense. i should have pics of the differences later.

yeah, those tires are beasts. i got them from www.tirerack.com for 325.00 shipped. they ride VERY comfortably... i definitely don't feel bumps as much when driving. from what i've tested so far, they seem to handle nicely as well. they are also grippy - i can't chirp 2nd anymore at all. i hear that the treadwear is great on them, but check out the reviews on tire rack for more comments and feedback on that...
but yeah, for the price of 75.00/tire - these are the best bang for the buck!

well that front lip actually cracked off on the roads here in the towson city (where i go to school). i was going up a dip to get into a driveway... and there was like a little cement lip of sidewalk that i had to climb over. well the lip didn't exactly clear, lol.
so i came to the conclusion that the mugen front lip is too much of a worry/hassle and the 5g lip has been more practical for daily driving thus far.
about the carbon fiber hood, yeah.. i'm semi-sad to see it go... but the money is going towards my auto>manual conversion taking place this spring. i also like the car's more subtle look now without it. with that hood on there, i stuck out like a sore thumb... and quite frankly i'm sick of the attention in general.
the white rims were nice too, but i'm just tired of those. not only did they also grab too much unwanted attention, but they got dirty wayyy to quick. with these slipstreams, i can't even tell if they're dirty or not after 2-3 weeks of driving on them. and i HATED the way my white rims looked when they were dirty. i also didn't like the way that those rims looked from different angles. the only time i truly liked them was when i was looking head-on directly at the side of the car.. and when they were in rotation.
i still get attention, but it's not as obvious now. the car just has a more cleaner/stock-like overall appearance. i wanted to set up my accord's exterior and be able to leave it alone - so that i could concentrate on making the car faster. and i wasn't 100% satisfied with my old styling. OEM style is where it's at!
well that's the end of my justification... thanks for your posts' ultimate compliment though Elliot!

time to post a few updated pics of my '92 as it sits today. i have LX steelies on there right now with the OEM hubcaps and all season tires for the winter time. check out my ultra stealth exhaust, too - i painted the canister flat black. that pretty much gets rid of the only thing i didn't like about the WS exhaust - the bling and visible size of the canister.

check out my ultra stealth exhaust, too - i painted the canister flat black. that pretty much gets rid of the only thing i didn't like about the WS exhaust - the bling and visible size of the canister.
dang IMHO the bling factor and the size are some of the reasons why i would buy a WS, but i like the stealth look too. maybe i should do it to my greddy SP. surely that would get the man off my back.

hi tuner , hey love the car, in auctual im buyin the coupe this week, what up with the trunk lid replacement what was it like b4 .ive also notice you got the auto tranny you know what ive done the same swap in my 92 accord 4dr but here in the uk my is the cb3 chasis and a 2.0i at that . my problem is that ive notice a slight hesitation when ever i take off exp:- crossin ,traffic light, etc that sort of thing you think i should use the prelude fuel pump and filter also u got any idea what it could be ? let me know what sup ....but love the car im might do a f22 dohc swap the lude vtecs engine conversion are gettin flippin expensive to buy ......chuch 1
ps love the whiute wheel there hard to get here are they ray te 37 s ?

timmy0tool: you would be singin' a different tune if you had seen this exhaust from behind at night time with headlights shined on it. it was about as bright as a headlight in itself, lol. it was just too much for what my car looks like now. i feel that this flat black look is more conservative and flows better with my new, more subtle theme. the look is actually race-inspired as well.. if you look at most of the autos in best motoring and other track racing media, you'll see that their canisters are either a primer color or flat black.
ukaccord92: trunk lid replacement wasn't hard at all, just basically swapped the lid on each car and used the same exact wiring harness we already had. before, it just looked like normal coupe tails.. the long 90-91 style. not sure about the hesitation... could be anything... but it would be a good idea to change the fuel filter anyways. the white rims i used to have were not te-37's.. they were konig rated-r's and are no longer in production.
thanks for the opinions guys

but the tokicos are nice too, i can't complain (i've had some horrible setups in the past). the ride is stiff and you can tell they're made for race setups.. so they're good in that sense. but i'd just personally like the adjustability for a street setup too. basically, its a good shock for replacing the weaker OEMs if you're upgrading to more agressive springs. good for the price!

as for the WS exhaust.. its probably one of the best modifications i've ever done to my accord. quiet and subtle looking (i painted the canister black) - its the ultimate sleeper catback. when people hear me coming, its all motor noise.. just the intake screaming. sometimes i feel that i'm being held back by the piping diameter and baffles in the muffler... but whatever, the sound is worth the loss

auto>manual transmission conversion complete :)
http://www.cb7tuner.com/hoodpopped.jpg
http://www.cb7tuner.com/motorsidegood.jpg
i don't have any pictures of the auto>manual conversion actually being done right now. some of them are on my friends digital camera and i need to get them off of him. i was mostly taking video of it all and i'll try and incorporate it into the next video i make of my accord. but i can tell you guys that it took about 5-6 days to fully complete and was quite an experience. everything is running fine as of now, but i still need to make a few small adjustments and get an axle from an EX since i used one from an LX and therefore my ABS isn't working. apparently there is a wheel speed sensor on the axle for the EX models. i wouldn't recommend anyone doing this conversion if their cb7 is fairly stock. in that case, i would just sell the auto and buy a manual version of the car. i only went through with it all since i had done a bit of work already with the engine, suspension, etc. NOT that the conversion is super hard or anything.. i just don't think its worth it otherwise.
but overall i'm happy and still taking it easy on breaking everything in. i haven't really tried pushin the throttle or racing it and probably won't for a couple more weeks... but i can't wait. it feels really strong and revs pretty quick with the lightweight flywheel i'm running. i'll keep this thread updated and hopefully i can get together the rest of those pictures soon.
ahh yeah.. definitely have to thank cpmike, CRseX, pwrusr, and my friend Eric (not a member on the board) for helping me work on the car. without you guys, i probably wouldn't have this car anymore or else would be taking A LOT longer to get this conversion done LOL

yea it was a good couple days for the swap, definately thank people on my behalf too for bearing with the living conditions, and the foreign lands u had to reach to get this garage....jk...but all in all most of the work was done during later towards the day, everyday, since i had to work in the mornings and i would pick up steve then head over to the farm lands...haha...but yea it was definately a lot of work, i'm sure its well worth it, and i'm sure steve would mention that too, but i'd agree with steve when it comes to doing this swap if u have a completely stock cb7 or any other car. It might be easier to just start off rite by getting the 5-spd in the first place....
but yea a good couple nights, cuz we mainly worked after the sun went down and i'll say this again steve:
IT WOULD'VE BEEN LIKE %689435489742 EASIER IF WE WOULDA GOTTEN RID OF THE FUKING A/C.
[/sarcasm]
that, once again is my opinion, a lot of people like the luxuries and the comforts of the A/C and would look past the problems and the "getting in the way" of numerous things. So ignore this when i say it: i hate a/c's theyre the one of the worst things to be put in a car, god..i'll stop now, i could write novels of how a/c's are not needed..

very glad i was able to help with the conversion, i had a great time with steve and sunny (crsex). wish i could have stayed longer and got to feel it when it was done, but ill feel it soon. you still have my tools and jack :p
also be glad that it went as well as it did... this conversion has potential to have some really crappy stuff happen... like if that release bearing wasnt on right, youd be pulling the motor back out again, or somethign small could have gone wrong and been hard to diagnose...
anyway enough babbling, are you glad i encouraged you so much? youre going to absolutely adore your car now... take it from me and 1crawlinaccord (who im glad to see posting now): its like being reborn!

A/C feels awsome when you gotta deal with summer heat AND HUMIDITY in the north east :tu:

i love a/c very nice in summer, whenever i got into the car, then walk outside, i just want to go back to the car and stay there and move no where, it like freaking 100 degree outside, A/C is the best for summer

i actually don't use my a/c at all in the summer time when it comes to keeping ME cool. i love the heat. i don't care if its 110 degrees outside, my windows are rolled down and the sunroof is open... always. the main reason i kept the a/c is for those rainy/muggy days OR when its really cold out and the front windshield fogs up to the point where i can hardly see anything. the a/c will clear that up in like 10 seconds and KEEP it clear. but we'll see what happens in the future.. if i take the motor out for a 3rd time for a rebuild or something, i'll probably take the a/c out too. especially if i get a daily driver on the side.
