I am wanting to remove all the emblems on the back of my car. 92' Accord Ex Coupe, http://members.cardomain.com/jeff405 My question is how do they come off, are they just glued on or do they have the holes? Also what is the best way to remove them without damaging the paint? Thanks for the help.

i just wiggled the shit out of them man and got them off. Takes a little bit of elbow grease but it worked for me. If that doesnt work i think you can take some fishing line, run it behind it, and use a blow dryer to heat up the adhesive and et it off that way. Once you do get it off, use some sort of solvent to get the adhesive off. I made sure to just touch the glue and not the paint either. Once its all gone, i would wax it and see how beautiful it looks without the emblems. There might be other ways, but this was how i did it, and you cant even tell it used to have emblems. They are on my computer now, btw.

Yes, try what chessboxer said, that should work. But you will have two holes and maybe if the paint has faded your emblem is still gonna show up, heres a pick of mine after I took it off. Also this pic was taken before I got all the adhesive off.

I took off the "Accord" and "EX" emblem on my coupe. I took a hair dryer at it and started wiggling it off. It will get very hot so be careful. After it's off clean it up real nice and it'll look really clean. You'll probably still be able to vaguely see the outline of the emblems even after they're off. But I have a white car ind it's hardly noticible.

i only removed my accord and ex amblems as well. How does somebody go about getting the holes filled in? Without taking it to a shop that is. Bondo perhaps? im not too found of it myself.

i meant behind the honda emblem, not the accord and ex. I havent removed that one because of the holes behind it.

damn I tried removing my Accord 10th anniversary emblem and did...but when I tried to remove the adhesive it barely would budge. 'paint sticky' remover from the store didn't work one bit, so I used paint cleaner. It slowly came off...but long story short...the paint cleaner ended up cutting through the clearcoat and metal started to show lol. So I ended up glueing the emblem back on. Sucks...i loved the way it looked too. Oh well I guess I'll just have a shop remove it and repaint that little piece...shouldn't cost too much...hopefully : /

I ordered an "Accord Inspire" emblem that I will be putting on soon, probably in place of the old accord emblem or maybe I'll take off the"H" and put it there. Which do you think I should do?

akkordlayinkit

I think you should put the new emblem where the old accord emblem was.

Anyone wants to give me their old "Accord" emblems? :) I'll take 'em off your hands.

I have the "Accord" and "EX" emblems...but they're hella dirty and the Accord emblem is almost broaken from the removal process.

How broken is broken? I'd probably be breaking it too anyway! :D Anyone have others that aren't almost broken?

Right on the verge of snapping in the middle.

Hmm that's cool. It would be sacrificed anyway.

***I'm also looking for ones that haven't been broken if anyone wants to part with theirs.***

What would you be using it for, because mine is messed up looking, like chrome looks like it has little rust dots in it, but its not that noticeable, and its not broken.

It would be to form an indentation in the mesh of a new grill I am planning.

So essentially the mesh would be formed around the logo, and then a new or new looking accord logo would fit in the indentation.

Confused already? :)

my emblems and my "H" have those little spots too...

That's why I took them off. I'm replacing the "H" too. It looks cleaner IMO without the emblems.

So you just want accord embossed into your grille? If we're thinking the same thing it would be pretty sweet...

Yep, pretty much. Can't take credit for that idea though, because I saw an accord with that done back in 98.

Still should look sweet though! :D

did any of you have "honda" the word on the top left of the trunk lid? or is that just for us crazy canadians? cuz i think theres holes in that too

ProjectCB7

The older Accord's in the US did I think. I don't think any of the 90-93's did though...

cp[mike]
12-21-2003, 12:43 AM
to my knowledge the 90-91's did, but not the 92-93's

chessboxer

i know the 3geez do, well at least some of them. My girl has an 89 and hers has that big HONDA on the top left of the trunk.

That would be a negative for the 92-93's

I just took off my emblems yesterday. I also had to take off a *** dealership emblem that was a huge pain. I did it before I read any of this on here and my dad recommended I use starting fluid(ether) to get the excess glue off. I just used fishing line in the beginning to get off the emblems and sprayed that stuff on there and scrubbed and it pretty much all came off. I had to use a plastic putty knife wrapped in a paper towel to get off some of the glue though. It looks so much cooler without emblems.
