ok.. i ask about running the DSM manifold and it works with some minor modification ..
it interfers with the front engine mount.
since this mount has to be removed how bad off with the motor be hence.
movement/roll play ect
how can i reinforce the other 3 relatively cheaply or any other options u guys have

you can always but a SFP manifold..they make 'em especially for the F series motor..about $450 (mild steel) and $650 (ceramic coated)

will it solve the problem of having to remove the engine mount?

well, when i spoke to SFP, they never mentioned anything about having to remove the front engine mount. give 'em a call just to make sure. if you go with the dsm manifold, use a heavy duty strap to tie the block to the front mounting bracket. a fellow cb7 driver with a turbo F22B2 did that and hasn't given him any problems.

Or you could just make an adapter to retain your stock manifold, just like the Civic guys do...that's the route I'll be taking.

You could use the SFP manifold it's a really nice product or use the 4th gen Preludes front crossmember and front engine mount. That would solve your problem.

92-96 prelude? cross mem and mount? Yep and don't forget the bracket that goes on the engine. You can buy it new from the dealer for like $25 because sometimes they don't like removing it from the engine.

Well it doesn't come up like a dog bone. It's like the rear mount but in front. It sits at the base on the front crossmember so you have the room for the Turbo's compressor housing.
i forgot who, but someone did use a mazda frount engine mount. but yea, the preludes work too i hear.
grab the front mount from a 80's toyota, and shorten it a bit.
i made it grab onto the bottom bolt hole. works great, its urethane, and cost 4 bux!

using an adapter plate like the civic guys do would set the turbo way too low.
just get some 3M window urethane sealer or other polyurethane sealer and fill your other 3 mounts with it.

I wanna know all that there is to be able to save that front mount..where to get a replacement, and for me..pics help a lot..with arrows pointing thigs out..lol. I am a visual learner..lol :bouncy:

do the mounting holes on the block still need to be shaved down when you use the prelude crossmember and mount? and are there any risks or serious problems with shaving the block? i plan on using a dsm set up for a f22b and any info would be appreciated....thanks

i shaved the living shit outta mine and raped it soon afterwards. Just do more shaving of the block than cutting into the block ya know. I probaly went as far as about 1/4-1/2 an inch deep into the block to get my turbo in but i've got a big t4 compressor housing. The dsm turbo's are alot smaller and the manifold positions the turbo slightly better so u won't have to mangle your block nearly as much as i did mine

Whose done this and how well does it work? This actually sounds good, along with getting the prelude mount.

i think Accord_r33 did it, except he used energy suspension inserts.
