Just wondering if anyone made an attempt or seen anyone do this. I brought this topic up on the Accordclub MB a while back. The Accord Inspire (Acura Vigor) and Ascot supposingly share the same Chassis as the CB accords.

I was wondering if anyone tried converting their front ends to a Acura Vigor or jdm inspire front?? Much like how 92-95 civics can update their front ends to 96-00 by changing the hood, fenders, and front bumpers.

A long time ago on Importfan.com, they were selling Accord JDM conversions. They had all these different conversions, (Ascot, Inspire) for the CB chassis....so is this a real bolt on modification? Sadly though, I guess they stopped because they are no longer found on the website. If this is possible, is it possible to just swap USDM front ends onto the CB chassis? exp. US Acura Vigor without any modifications???

I brought this up because a while back on the other board, a guy on e-bay sold a fellow 4th genner some jdm headlights for a 90-93 accord......turns out they were 90-93 Accord Inspire headlights (vigor) so they didn't fit.

The 4th genner did mention though that when he did tried fitting them, he said they lined up within the corners...but the only thing wrong was the extended fog/citylight housing that overlapped where the CB grille relies.

Can anyone else confirm these chassis similarties?? I want to visit my local acura dealer and try to park next to a used vigor and see if the fenders etc. are about the same length. I'm really not thinking of doing a CC conversion....i'm just trying to revive a forgotten topic....

nah man, he's not trying to attempt the conversion - he just wants to know if it's possible.

i'm not sure myself. i haven't seen ANY members on this board with the vigor/inspire front end conversion. this is the first time i've even heard it talked about.

i'm not sure about the fitament either. the headlights or the grill would definitely require some modification (like you said... the housing overlaps the grill area).

and i'm not too certain at all about the front bumper/fenders. maybe you can check and see if the part numbers cross (or check the dimensions) at a honda dealership or something. or try a junkyard... there might be a vigor front bumper still intact laying around out there.

but really - it's possible. lol; anything is possible with the right amount of money :laughy:

You know, I was thinking about doing this with my wagon... I think it would look pretty snazzy to have a Vigor Wagon... :) I was seriously thinking about the Vigor Headlight thing though, except I have not the $200 to buy them... Maybe I'll pick up some USDM units from a junk yard.

from what i remember by looking at it, the space between the leading door edge and the wheel well is alot wider on the vigor than it is on the cb7, even just because of that im gonna say No, its not gonna go on as easy as you would hope.

a long time ago (before i started coming here) i read about someone who moulded up a body kit type of thing in his garage to convert to a vigor front end, last i know he made one for his car and was planning to make a few to sell. i dont know how it ended up, but thats all ive ever heard about a cb7 -> vigor. let me see if i can dig that up.

EDIT: looks like accordracing lost all old posts when they upgraded vbb versions... dont know if im gonna be able to find it.

hmm...thanks for your feedback guys... Maybe when I'm not feeling lazy, I might e-mail Importfan.com "gtp international" and ask them why they stopped selling these "jdm conversions" on the CB7 page? I love the jdm blk housed vigor headlights......but i'm not too crazy about the grille.

Mmm that sounds sexy... A wagon with a vigor front end. =P~~

eh, not really. That cb-whatever has a nice body, but needs a bag to cover that face.

looks too much like the previous gen Integra (small middle grill between too big headlights)

props on the work though

Was browsing the forum and forgot all about this thread. Trying to revive this thread. I have a JDM accord inspire CB5 front end... headlights, bumper, fog/turn lamps etc. To my surprise I didn't notice but vigors have a shorter front face than our accords. Their fenders are a little longer but the bumpers are much shorter.

While my car was out of commision due to a faulty radiator, I tried throwing on the Inspire front end..... 1st thing I noticed that the bumper support was different, so I swapped out the inspire bumper support for a jdm accord support. The plastic screws only lined up on two holes but the length and everything fit the bumper just fine.

Now I mounted the bumper onto my accord and to my surprise hey, it's the same width and it looked pretty cool in the front.....however, the bumper is about 4 inches off on both sides from sliding onto the 2 screw plastic slide hangers. So...this being the case, any of u that are good at molding might like to try to put a vigor face onto a cb7?
