i have "carbon fiber" look tail lights on my car right now and although i like them, i was wondering if there is a way of painting the interior "carbon fiber" part black? i dont want the lens black, i want to keep it clear, i just want the inside part black. you could check out my page so you could see the tails i have on now to better understand my question...

well, the guy that did my interior is a distant cousin and he gets along great with my dad. he does upholstery for a living but mostly for restaurants but i told him once that i was thinking about doing my interior and he told me to bring it by and he'll help me out. i removed all the interior pieces myself so for like 4 weeks i was driving around with only my driver's seat...really hard to pick up on the ladies with only one seat...but he finished the seats and did the carpet for me. i did the rest like door panels, roof, and all the plastic inside stuff. so thats how you do it, you get a family member to help you out:lol:

hmmm...no replies yet, i was wondering if it would be the same as blacking out the head lights? should i put them in the oven to melt the glue and then remove the clear cover and paint?

as far as i can figure i would imagine that you could do the tails the same way you do the head lights. I dunno if you would have to use such high temp paint though like for bbq's because to my knowledge the tails dont get as hot as the headlights do.
Also, they make some paint for blacking out the outside of the lights as well, which i what i wanna try and do. its called like night shades or something like that and ive heard you can also use some of the testors transparent black like people use for the red tails.
