Help me find a good setup

I just want to come out and say I don't know all that much about suspension so I need some help picking out a suspension setup. I'm mainly into drag racing and I have 16" wheels so I need around a two inch drop. I know that I will need a camber kit when I drop it that much. I want to have it adjustable though because I would like to auto x as well. I'm not really looking to spend more than $700, but I want some gas shocks and springs that would meet my needs. I'm guessing I would need some gas shocks that have an adjustable damper but I'm not really sure. I need something that is strong because I have big power plans in the future so I don't want to be breaking things later on. Could someone point me in the right direction as to what kind/brand products I need....

neuspeed race springs + koni sports (yellow) sounds like it would be in your ball park.

for new parts, you're looking just around $700 +/- some. but that's before labor for installation. if you're fairly handy yourself, you can do it with the right tools at your disposal.

Just anywhere around $700 is good not including labor costs. I plan on installing it myself. I don't really care too much about how good it rides. I'm just assuming for drag that I need a pretty stiff set up. Are neuspeed springs pretty good? I have heard mixed things about them...

you can get drag-racing springs (i believe eibach has them) but you mentioned wanting to auto x as well. which is why I suggested the neuspeed race. not sure what kind of complaints you've heard about nuespeed springs. i've had mine since 1994 and they've seen 180,000 miles on them now and they ride just as stiff as ever.

for drag racing i've heard that u want more stiffness in the rear of the car so when u launch and the car's ass doesn't sit down so far. I have kyb agx shocks and struts, neuspeed springs (2.5" front, 2.25" rear drop) and an ebay front camber kit. It serves me well at the track and on the street. My gf is rather blessed in the chest area so she hates the ride...especially when she keeps getting hit in the face with her own boobs lol...so u might wanna take the ladies into account. Over all its fully adjustable from soft dampening to really hard dampening. On the really hard setting the car rebounds so fast that my butt is usually in the air because my body is still traveling upward while the car is completely settled down. $300 for the shocks, springs, and struts (all used)and $100 for the front camber kit(new)

I am partial to the KYB AGX shocks. Even though they are not on my car yet, I will have them soon. I have been in cars that were equipped with them and they rode very smooth. The adujustability is a very nice feature. As for lowering the car, I would go with what USC said. You can either get some Neuspeed springs or some Eibach's. But, this is my opinion. :D

I had heard some people complain about them before, but it seems that pretty much everyone here likes them. I'll probably end up going with the neuspeed springs then. Thanks for all the help so far. Why did you only get a front camber kit and not one for the rear?

Dont need a rear camber kit. Home Depot sells a great one... Washers. You can just shim it out...

If your into drag racing more, I'd have to say stiffer springs in back than front would be ideal for launches. That with good adjustable struts & you can adapt it to autox by adjusting strut stiffness accordingly for a more even setup. Or just get a complete spring set, all one brand. Price will determine what you can do.
