Who's running 18's on their car? I'm looking to ride 18's but I'm new to 4g accords. I want to lower, but I'm about clueless on this one. I generally do euro stuff, but honda's are different.
Are 18s too big for the accord? Can you lower without too many problems?
Thanks for the help.

i'm not totaly sure about this but i'd say 17's would be large enough with our cars. There are a few with 18's i believe, but you'r gonna risk rubbing like a son-of-a-whore.

I hear from many people that they will rub. 17's are probably your best bet and look very good.

I'm shooting for a tight budget, so the rims probably will not exceed 1g if possible, and that would be for 18's with wheels. I'm looking at Excel's from Wheelmax.com.

what offset are you running? would 42 be correct? has anyone ran a staggered offset like a 38 and 42?

Get those first rims of excels, the Racing Harts look-alikes. 18"s will fit fine on our cars, even with a drop, though you will have a little rub on sharp turns, try and see if you can get 18"s that are 8" wide, instead of 8.5", that'll help out too.

rubbing has nothing to do with rim size (diameter wise anyways). rubbing accurs when you have the wrong off-set, or a rim that is too wide. if you are being smart about wheels, the overall diamter of the rim and tire will be the same as stock no matter what the rim size. any size rim can rub..even stock. with all rims, try not to exceed 7.5" wide, and no less than a 42mm offset. a 18x7.5 rim would be ideal with a 45mm offset. add a 215/35 tire (225/35 is the perfect diameter..but those are a marginally expansive tire size to buy) and i doubt you will have any rubbing. my old accord had a 2.5"-3" drop on konig imagines...18x7.5 with a 45 mm offset, and a 215/35 tire. i never rubbed.

i have 5zigens fn01r-c 18"s and my car rides fine...i only had a problem with rubbing on the rear driver side wheel and thats because i was hit there a while back and im thinking the body shop didnt do a good job popping the fender out far enough...but i love them and im planning on lowering it with a 2" drop in front and 1.7" in the rear...i'll let you know how it goes but i dont think you will have any problems. btw, i like the first rims you put up. oh, and i think my offset was 42, not quite sure though

Thanks to all for the help. Good points everyone should pay attention to the statements by LAMSV. By doing the homework and math, i'm putting a 10" rim on the back of my BMW when everyone said 8.5" was the biggest you could go, then it was 9.5 and nothing bigger and you'd probably have to roll the fenders. I'm running 10" without rolling or rubbing.
Offset is key.
What about 18X8 w/45 offset, would that work? I've seen it on an Accord before.

if you rolled the fenders....a 18x8 with a 45 mm offset should work. rolling the fenders can can a lot of extra space for wide rims or wrong offsets. i have seen a 17x7.5 rim with 38mm offset fitting in an accord lowerd on neuspeed sports and koni yellows. i attached the link to the car.....the wheels are almost flush with the upper lip of the fender!! but it does look good with the wheel wells filled out that much. good luck.
