17s - tire size recs?

Im picking up a set of rims, 17x7 ADR GT Sports in white from a local guy for $400 with lugs/key and I was wondering what would be the best type of tires to get.

My town has shitty roads, bunch of potholes and crap, and was wondering if itd be better to get 215/45/17 or 205/40/17 or if anyone has a better suggestion im gladly open to them :)

you should go with the 215/45, 45 series is thicker better for those bumpy roads... it'll just cost you a lil bit more than the 205/40s but it'll be worth it in the end less tire wear and a lil bit more comfy ride..

alright, yea i was scared to get 40s because thats tiny and this town is just horrible with their roadcare and upkeep.. alignment is almost a bimonthly thing to do :(
