My right front brake has grinded against the rotor and scraped a bit off the rotor. I knew I needed to change my brakes soon but I thought I still had some time. What do you think has happened? It sounds like metal against metal when I push the brakes? Should I stop driving immediately, or can I drive it to the shop? The rotor is grooved/scraped when I touch it but will a shop be able to regrind it? I hope this is just a matter of getting new brake pads. I am not able to jack up my car and take off the tire right now so all I have seen is the rotor through my wheel.

you probably need new rotors. they will have use a micrometer to see if the rotor can be resurfaced . later.

its safe enough to drive to a shop, so long as you dont drive 90mph getting there, they might MIGHT be able to save the rotors, but labor is gonna suck.

yea, most likely new pads and rotors will be neccasary (sp)

but i say drive VERY carefully to the shop, and let them do their work

upgrade the rotors and feel the difference
