if you are using all oem components from usdm engines it will be roughly 9.3:1 which is good for mild camshaft 180-220deg duration @ .050" on the intake side. they all hold up well under hard or normal driving as long as they are treated right. wait for the oil to get up to temperature before beating on it. make sure it is .25qt over full if you plan to rev it above 6500rpm alot.

Hey ive seen you have successfully built the f22a/f23 hybrid motor. Ive read a lot of your stuff but theres been a few things that ive been thinking about.

    1. I was reading your sticky post on building n/a motors and you refered to peak hp, tq, and compression ratios as tools we can use to determine an ideal camshaft. The thing is is that idk what peak hp, tq, nor c/r would be for the f23 block f22a head hybrid. Ive read some things about how to measure the motor to determine the c/r but i do not a setup in my hands. Do you know these values or can you show me a way to determine these values without the motor in my possesion.

    2. My other question is how well has your build held up and did you do anything to the head to have it match the 86mm bore. If so what did you do/how much did it cost? I might be able to figure that part out by myself but i do wish to know what route u went and what the results were.

    Thank you for your time

the f23 head is taller so the belt is one tooth longer. you use the f23 short block and everything else is f22ax.

is there any part that you have to use the f23 or f22 part? or am I able to mix and match everything? such as bolts ect... I have found that I have to use the f22a timing belt due to the f23 having a smaller cam gear? someone told me something about a bolt that has to be one of the other or it strips out if its the wrong bolt? did you bore the head out to match the combustion chamber, or just mate the head to the block as is?
PM me if you would like.
    I appreciate it.

Hello JDM92, my name is matt..
I came across your members rides post of your very nice cb with the f23a block. I've been searching for a good write up or some diy to fallow on doing the f22a6 head on f23a block. I have found some stuff on it but nothing that has step by step.
I was hoping that maybe you had something that you wouldn't mind passing onto another cb7 member.

any help is appreciated, thanks you

Hey man, i often watch your videos on your F22A build on Youtube. I love to see the progression and it also gives me an idea how my EUDM F22A will perform though i am very unsure because our engines are so different.
Anyway, i was counting your time in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vLUqfThMCo came out 06.40 with a stopwatch, maybe closer to 7 seconds, was just wondering what kind of bolt ons your had at that time?
    I assume its your videos.

Yes it has performed flawlessly, however I don't recommend it if you run any amplifiers or accessories that draw a lot of amps.

Same here. There is a willingness to help and contribute to each others builds, as well as a desire to make good friends. I love that and want to be a part of supporting and propagating that mindset. Concerning the PC680, has it performed to the point where you would recommend it for other CB owners? Would you recommend it under certain conditions only?
