Mine sat for a year or so in the PO's driveway. I've only had to replace the spark plug tube seals, distributor seal, and distributor O-ring. YMMV. Seems a little silly to me to replace a headgasket...

My speedo reads lower than actual till about 30, is right until ~60, and by the time the car is doing 70 it says ~82. No other problems in my case, stock size tires, I've just ignored it so far.

Yeah, a crank pulley isn't a wear part, it's not like they just "go bad" every now and then. If yours wasn't torqued down enough and started to machine itself on the crank, it wouldn't be a bad idea...
