It is possible that the ignition switch is bad.
Excess wear on contacts in "on" position after engine starts in "start" position.

I had this problem with two of CB7s I have.

if it was mine, i'd use a flat file to take off...

if it was mine, i'd use a flat file to take off high spots. if i had a belt sander, i's use that instead.

make the surface reasonably flat and re use the manifold with a new gasket.

Remove the battery and take it to a parts store...

Remove the battery and take it to a parts store where can perform load test on it.

Your battery may show good OCV on DMM but may not be producing enough current for cranking.

But you have a terminal cover on the post which is somewhat confusing.

I have installed a new axle from Advance Auto (P/N 36503, $70) on the left side.
It has about 5000 miles and no issue yet.

How soon/miles is yours breaking down?
