You can replace the switch portion and leave the lock cylinder alone. Just a couple screws and thats it really.

I bought one from the dealer over 4 years now and still no breaks or cracks, and I've taken them off a few times. Guess you guys just have bad luck with the dealer ones.

Is so, just file it down a little and smooth it out. The piston wont travel that low in the block.

Cut the j1 jumper in the ECU and try to start it up, It should start up and run, but dont drive the car like that, That reverts it to the stock 1.6L map thats on there.

Maybe you should look into a better hydraulic jack...

Use a hole saw that fits only on the rubber portion, Hole saw made for wood works great on rubber, Lesser tooth count the more aggressive the cut will be.

Then just cut the sleeve out.

There were 2 designs, The plate with the 2 holes are the first design, The second design uses only 1 bolt to hold it in place, And that bolt is on the outside of the timing cover.

Even at more than 182 Ft pounds you should not have problems with the bearings.



They most likely wont cover the bearing...

Check the cylinders, Once they are truly round and not ovaled then you are fine to just re-ring. Its not that you cant hone the FRM its more work to find all the tools to do it than a regular steel...
