I had the same problem. I took the header and downpipe both to a belt sander to make both flanges as flat as possible, then used permatex. Even torque on those nuts would probably help as well.

Edit: A 5cyl CB7 would be different for sure, but you’d get the power of a 4 cylinder with the MPG of a 6 cylinder. Not to mention the lack of aftermarket support. You’d be in cheaper...
