ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Transmission Noise

Hey guys sorry I havent posted anything lately, I've been pretty busy and couldnt get near a computer, but to the issue. I had EXR-ALB put up a question about trans noise for me and one of the reply's was possibly input shaft bearing. I think thats what it is cause when I fired it up today and let it idle in neutral I could still hear the whirring noise coming from the trans. Any suggestions?

I dont think thats the problem cause I put in a new clutch kit with pressure plate and bearings. To me it sounds like an internal problem, but its got me confused cause its still a bit noisy in neutral.

throwout bearing. Usually causes that type of sound. It eventually becomes obnoxiously loud.

Its really strange, I will have to see if if EXR-ALB and I can get a sound clip. Maybe that will help.

Does the transmission make the sound when the clutch is engaged or disengaged?

If it makes the sound when the tranny and engine are connected via the clutch it is an internal bearing issue.

Before you junk the tranny it may be a cheap fix to try changing the tranny oil with honda manual transmission oil. It solved alot of noise and hard shifting problems for me.

It is when I have my foot of the clutch pedal, in neutral or when driving in 1st to 4th gear. How expensive is the Honda oil? I just put new synthetic oil in it when the clutch was done 10,000 kms ago. Do most Honda dealers keep it in stock?

My old H2U5 tranny was insanely loud @ idle w/ the clutch disengaged, and was also really rough and loud when it was in gear, I'm glad it's been swapped out! It def. was worn internally.
