i like how everyone is making their opinion based on the movie. has anyone ever read the comics. dude iron man hands down. batman would have to whip out a vaporizor for him to win but he wouldnt cause the closest thing to a gun he uses is a ninjastar.

I just saw Iron Man less than an hour ago, and yes, i enjoyed it. Saw the previews for the new Batman...eh. Looks better than the first one. Although i have to give a to Cillian Murphy. He played a wicked Scarecrow.

Movies aside, Man-to-man. Suit-to-suit.

Iron Man.

Hands down.

Batman is merely a man in a latex/rubber/nylon suit with a belt full of gadgets.
Iron Man may be a man in a suit as well, but its a gold-plated titanium suit. That flies. And has rockets, guns, flares, computerized aides, etc.

Superman /vs/ Iron Man would be a better fight.
Superman's powers are within. He doesnt need a suit for anything. He could technically do his job naked. It wouldnt take much for him to get Tony Stark outta the suit. Then, it's Game Over.

Iron Man /vs/ Batman:

haven't seen the ironman movie. but batman's got to many toys for iron man to compete with. in one of the batman comics he also has a suit like ironmans. haha fantasy is fun

but ironman has a suit made special for each of his opponent like the thor buster, hulk buster, and he even has the mighty war machine... he wouldnt need a special suite to defeat batman though...
