Nice, well congrats and good luck. It's not too often you see people in career fields where they actually enjoy what they do nowadays.

to kind of bump this thread up, here are some pictures of a custom manifold for aaron's buddy's ef. He has welded thousands but this is the the first one he actually put together and made with no ties to any shop.

laguna any new stuff on your end?

Why is the flange just spot welded? Still working on it?

            Looks nice though.

Yeah he hadn't finished it yet. You can see that sharpied section marked on it needed to be cut out for the wastegate as well.

Here it is finished. And on the car.

Damn, that is beautiful work! Hopefully I can be there one day! Yea, I have been posting in the SoCal Regional Section lol Sorry kinda forget about the thread here, I'm in my winter semester (short) and I only have two classes, so i've had alittle time to build. Pretty much done with a front-mount, civic half rad and stainless rad hoses in a friend's 88' All-Trac Celica, here is the thread http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=182540 for those too lazy haha here are some pics I like, hopefully I can take the time to get better at taking pics. Lots of stuff I do looks nice I just can't capture it with a photo lol

Some nice stuff in here. I'd love to learn how to weld, but I don't have a clue where to start.

Those are some seriously nice welds.

I can do ok welds with my crappy flux core machine. I can just imagine the leap in quality when I upgrade to a gas shielding box.

BTW what did you make those charge pipes with?

Thanks! The tube is 16ga 2.5" 304 Stainless. I have a nice bead roller to form the ends.

Yea, def. get a bottle of argon/co2 mix. Flux core is a no go for car stuff, It will be a night and day difference on a small machine. I have a Hobart Handler 140 aka small mig lol It welds like butter!
