ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Hump day bump for my buddy

Unlike most people (today is wed-nes-day, thanksgiving eve) i won't have a turkey In the oven tomorrow. I'm thinking tail lights. I'm going to attempt this again.

Question: about how long do you leave them in for? I'm assuming same as headlight temp 225° F after removing bulbs and trim and stuff

                        C-3PO's MRT USDM yo!

then i see my baby, suddenly I'm not crazy,
It all makes sense when i look into her eyes

Honestly I think a good ole heat gun it the best choice for separating any head/tail lamp housings. Reason being is that it isn't necessary to heat up the entire assymbly to open them up when you only need to heat up the adhesive. Oh another thing I took note of is the sealant that Honda uses for their OEM housings. I really believe that they use Honda bond. I have always used 3m windshield adhesive to put my headlamps back together. Unfortuneately I have only seen that stuff in black. The Honda bond is grey.

I used the oven, I like even heat better. so I set it at 225*F and left one piece at a time in for 7 minutes one way, then rotated it and left it for 5 more minutes. (with bulbs, trim, reflectors etc. removed) then slowly pried off the lens with plastic pry tools. putting the piece back in the oven a few times to warm the sealant back up some more. then regular blackhouse procedure.

the inners were the hardest. I used a dremel to grind away the tabs.

note: the reverse section of the inner tail is a separate piece.

once you have the inner tail light lens off you are able to remove the brake light reflector shield. (only way to get to it is from the inside) I went ahead and polished it since I was in there.

here is a comparison of the inners. I left the plastic reflectors in.

                              all done
