so its been raining here in the desert since yesterday afternoon. i'm sure that my trunk is soaked and hopefully my subwoofer is just fine. I think this is gonna make me waterproof my trunk. i already drilled holes in the bottom of the spare tire compartment to drain any water. (not worried about rust being caused by salted roads or anything.) well my plan is to use gasket maker along the bottom of the OEM wing on a trunk that doesn't have OEM mounting holes. The idea is to create an O-ring with the gasket maker around the mounts. Maybe i'll fix those leaking taillights at the same time

              time for another update!

I had some free time on my hands today (read: procrastinating homework) and decided to install the new 255cc injectors and h22 upper mani & TB. It was a pretty warm day for the middle of Nov. even here in New Mexico. Hour in, intake and injectors are taken off/apart/out. I get everything together up to the upper mani. I'm having to replace hoses as I go due to length, clearance, and cracks. I'm sitting there putting the last two coolant lines for the damned fast idle and I trash my gasket. Now I get to wait until tomorrow to pickup a new gasket set. On the plus side, my gaskets were already torn, I need a new PS belt to put PS back on. i am tired of not having it. its been 3 years already. the power loss is minimal and the inconvience is quite alot.

              plans for tomorrow:
buy new belt, gasket set, hoses
              Put PS pump on
              Replace IM gaskets
              Reinstall IM, intake, etc.
Test out the new set up!

update. injectors and intake now installed. unfortunately i now have a vacuum leak somewhere.:

its too cold to do anything more tonight so i will have to drive it as is tomorrow. on the plus side she feels a lot stronger and i definitely need to invest in a s300 system

High idle fixed! took off the TB and looked through it. much to my surprise, i could see daylight between the plate and TB. adjusted the stop screw and bam idle was fixed. Unfortunately it also forced me to blow a CEL #7 TPS. I'm really hoping i just need to reset the ECU cause...well...frankly i don't want to deal with swapping TPS from the f22 TB over to H22 TB. not that i don't have a dremel and cutting discs on hand, i just don't have a multimeter. Or even better yet, lets hope i was just burnt and left off the TPS plug!

                  *edit
                  TPS was left unplugged

So the car and i have been making some trips across town and into the mtns (about 40 miles one-way) and the car hasn't liked it very much. First she blew a heater core hose in the driveway of a house i was watching, leaving me more or less stranded. made it home and replaced the hose today. well now i have a busted heater core and a passenger footwell full of antifreeze.

                    *edit
replaced heater core, and might i say, FUCK doing that. it was a bitch and a half. removed the entire dash and upper intake manifold to get enough access. i'm sure i did it the hardest way possible, but it was anything but easy.

ah it has been a few months since i've posted anything up on here. So i figure its time for updates and possibly some pictures.

                      Let's see.

since i did the heater core in December, I had a vacuum leak from the pesky FITV. drove like that for a few months until spring break and then i had the time and energy to remove the intake mani and fix it. Yes, i know. dumb me decided hey let's remove the whole mani instead of just the plenum. oh well. I took advantage of the opportunity and tucked the injector wires. Not much of a difference but i like it.
                      Before:

                      After:

She's running nice and strong right now. Planning on taking her to the strip here in the near future for some pass times. In the old CB my best was low 19's at 70mph (at 5700 ft). We're definitely faster than that now.

                      Plans for the spring/summer:
                      K&N 3" airfilter
Fabricate cold air box for SRI
                      m2f4 auto-5spd conversion
                      replace rear window regulators
                      92-93 trunk swap

                        More pictures.
                        I think there's a turbo missing...

Put Power steering back on for the first time in...shit....its 2010...in 4 years. I've never had a CB with working PS till now. Gotta say i love it and don't know what the younger me was thinking. I can do without the 3 horses required to run it.

It took a good half dozen..ok maybe a dozen bottles of PS fluid before i realized hey, change the Orings and it won't leak all over your header smart guy. total cost $3.

Here is the reason i need to fab up an air box. I have access to a welder. just need to get off my ass.

And here's a little teaser shot for all of you!

                              5-Spd swap

This last saturday was the start of the auto-5spd swap. I had hoped on doing the entire h22 swap instead of just the tranny but unfortunately the guy i bought the lude from blew a whole in the block big enough that I pulled pieces of the piston and rod out by hand. (pictures on that later)

So we pulled the engine and pulled the tranny off. The clutch was fried, chunks were missing, the flywheel had scorch marks. Thankfully I'm getting the tranny rebuilt for $122. Yup. Basically just have to pay for labor.

Now just need to save up for a New flywheel, clutch, and mounts.

                                Update 9-20-10

well it's a sad day for my wonderful CB.

I was rear ended this weekend by a large workvan on my way to go watch some Roller Derby action in taos. About two hours out of town I stop cause the truck in front of me stops. I have enough time to look in my mirror and think to myself "f*ck....this is going to hurt." BAM!

I get out and expect to see my entire trunk and bumper smashed in. to my surprise he hit square on the bumper and spared me from having to kill somebody for wrecking my baby.

Well there wasn't much damage visibly, except for an obvious crushed bumper support. I was surprised at how well my CB took the blow. Unfortunately, now my trunk does not line up correctly and I have a sprained knee as my knee took the impact of the damage because my foot was on the brake.

Hopefully insurance doesn't try to screw me over on this one as i would be like this guy
