    EXT: "Floating" Grill Badge DIY

I thought I would share this, since there is already a DIY on a custom grill, why not one on a "floating" grill badge.

    Items needed:
1- Left over gutter guard mesh used in the grill DIY or some aluminum mesh
    2- 3M Plastic Emblem & Trim Adhesive
3- Emblem or badge of your choice.
    4- 16-guage wire (optional)
    5- Flat Black Spray Paint

To start off,you should have a grill that looks similar to the one below. If not, then follow this thread. http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...ght=grill+hack

    Creating the Emblem Bracket.

    - Cut a piece of the mesh the length of the emblem PLUS 4-5 inches, by the height of the emblem. Fold over the ends to form a box on each side of emblem bracket. Paint the bracket black.

    - Glue the bracket to the emblem using the 3M Adhesive. Allow to cure.

Attaching the Emblem to the Grill

    - Apply adhesive to the two mounting surfaces on the emblem bracket and attach to the grill. You may want to use some stranded wire to tie the new “floating emblem to the grill as well.
    Finished.

    Enjoy your new grill

Thanks for the comments. On mine I used both adhesive and wire, and it's been on there a long time.

Sorry about the pics, they were with my phone cam. As soon as the rain lets up, I'll roll over to my friends house and use his digi cam.

So i decide to do it, but was to lazy to get out the leftover mesh. I just ghetto rigged instead. Gorrila glue and staples OH YEAH!

I think it turned out fine for a two minute project. I may do the floating thing tommorow when I have some more time.
