    Stripping Paint / Powdercoating

I just bought a set of rims and one of the centercaps was powdercoated red. So i read online that you can use spray gasket remover to strip it off. Here's my results.

1 can of spray gasket remover. $3.99

    Cap before applying gasket remover.

Spray a good amount of gasket remover onto the surface.

seal it in a bag and let it sit for 15 minutes. (JDM 99 Ranch Market Bag)

This is what it will look like after the 15 minutes are up.

This is what it looked like after i wiped the paint off with paper towels.

Here is the final result after repeating the above steps one more time.

Autostrip is much stronger than aircarft remover in my opinion.. thus being stronger than gasket remover.
I have used alot in my work and on valve covers... soo there ya go.

can you get automotive paint stripper at autozones?

i know automotive paint places have paint strippers but i dont know about aircraft paint strippers.

i recently started polishing my rota gt3s and i dont wanna go through the hassle of sanding all the paint off. im just wondering if a faster solution to polishing such a thing is easier to remove the paint with paint stripper?

                    thanks

paint stripper completely removes all the paint leaving it bare metal.

lol i didnt notice you were sanding the paint off, thought you were trying to polish it ;p

yea im sanding the paint off so i can get to the bare metal and start polishing it

i rather not just sand all the paint off, thats why im asking about the paint stripper.
