ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Bad Collant Temp Sensor and Rough Idle

I've been working on my 92 for a while now and have fixed the idle surge and corrected the timing. But my idle RPM will randomly drop about 100 RPM lower than normal idle. I checked for codes and found that my Collant Temp Sensor is faulty even though I replaced it two months ago. Could this Sensor be what is causing my suddden idle RPM drop?
Does anyone else have a monthly budget of 10mm sockets or is it just me?

There are a number of things that affect idle speed: temperature, electrical load, PS load, AC on or off, etc. What idle speeds is it changing between? Under what conditions?

The idle rpm drops to about 450 to 550. My AC doesnt work so its never on. I checked my battery voltage when the rpm dropped and it was about 13.75. It only ever goes that low when it is in drive. When it is cold out it does it a lot more. Now that its getting warmer in my area it doesnt act up as much but still acts up from time to time.

The bottom end of the tach actually starts at 500 rpm. Auto or manual transmission? With the trans in neutral, the engine is supposed to idle at about 700 rpm. Have you attempted to set your base idle (find instructions in the DIY section)?

So I checked the base idle and that improved it a bit. But I just got a new ecu from a lude and that seems to have mostly fixed it. Maybe it was my old ecu?
