jdm F20a..DOHC or SOHC??

im lost i know the F22b is dohc and the f22b1,2,3 is a sohc vtec... but i have an f20a SOHC sittin in my garage, and im now seeing a F20a DOHC... whats that from and is it like an F20a1,2,3 ???
Did a search but i cant find anything on the two of them.... just the fact that they r there....

if im almost positive...94-97 sir accords in japan came with a f20 dohc. which is basically a destroked 2.2 but dohc in stead of sohc. and if its the right one with the blue valve cover its rated at 220 hp.

The F20 you are refering to is known as the F20B. It comes in 98-02? Accord SiRs. It has a compression of 11.0 and its rated for 200 horsepower. And yes it does have the blue valve cover. Now the F20a Dohc that According2Me mentioned in this thread is from a 92-93 Accord in japan.

Well friend, I honestly don't think u searched good/long enough.


F22b are jdm motors from 5th gen accords.

Yes they r dohc.


F22b1, are vtec only, not f22b2 or w/e #s u said....


F20A motors r from 4th gen cb's.


My f20a sohc was nice with a flywheel, very peppy in the top end, she loved the high rpm's.


If I can do it all over again ill get dohc motor, more so a f22b dohc, more compression, more tq and hp. Costs the same as a any other non vtec motor..

Yes they do have dohc F20A's also known as the Si...

You won't have as much tq as a f22b compared to a f20a si.. It reallty depends on what your looking for. I love sohc and all, but dohc is jus smoother all over to me, especially goin up hills and launching.
