ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Easiest way to separate the lower control arm from the lower ball joint ever.

I would have put this on the recent balljoint thread that bcjammerx started, except the thread is old and so...here it is on a separate thread. I thought people would like to see it.

This video on youtube shows a guy separating the lower control arm from the knuckle using only a jack, his foot, and a closed end wrench. He jacks the lower control arm up and fits the closed end of the wrench between the b.j and lower control arm.

Then he drops the control arm and removes the jack, and just kicks down on the hub assembly. Leverage against the wrench separates the control arm from the b.j. and the wrench drops to the ground. The boot of the bj is untouched as long as you are careful in setting the wrench in there and watch as you drop the jackhead away.

Check it out, it's very cool! Who knows if it really works though:

That's weird. I've been using a pickle fork. I pop it in there and hammer on it a few times. Works great, and you won't risk fucking up your wrench.

                  I bet it would!

BTW, not to be a pain in the ass and it's totally up to you, but the tagline on your sig is depressing me every time I read it. At first I wasn't going to comment on it but it really does, no way around it.

This method worked for me after nothing else would work (it was just so awkward trying to get enough force onto the control arm with a hammer given the limited space with which to swing). I didn't even have to kick it like in the video...that weight of the knuckle and force of the spring were enough.
