    Sea Foam Experience! Horror Story!

Ok well. I personally dont know where I would put this thread so I chose perforamce due to the fact that on what happened was nothing good and prolly killed performance.

So tonight. My friend decided to show me what happened when he used the directions of sea foam. What he did before was by using the brake booster vacuum hose, he sucked up about a half bottle and shut the car off. then 5 minutes later he was able to drive and burn it all away (gotta love the white smoke cloud for about 15 minutes fo driving)

Well as he tried this again. He sucked up a little less than half bottle again. Then tells me to shut the car off. So I do so and well. The engine stumbles and somehow its still on. I yank the key out and it still going. Now getting a bit irratic of an idle. He screaming at me to yank the key out and I show him the key out the window.

By now we both back up and notice the irratic idle even worse and now the brake booster hose shooting a 3 foot cloud of smoke, spewing out oil. Then the intake doing the same thing. And any other little hose that is conencted to the intake manifold shooting out oil. As we panic trying to figure out a way to shut it off. No luck. After staring cuz we had no idea what to do. 2 minutes have passed and it eventually just shut off.

Sitting and staring some more in confusion we clean up and I guess our conclusion was from the sea foam going into the cylinders and it being 100% petroleum. It ignited and managed to make the engine go in reverse. Causing the shooitng of smoke and oil from every part of the intake manifold and intake.

We finished cleaning up and grew the balls to try and start the car. Amazingly it did start and we took it for a ride. My friend has told me that car sint runnign the same. quite obvious. so we plan on ripping the intake manifold apart and clean it to the max. I just thoguh I would tell you of this horror story so you do not make the same mistake of sea foam. I'm still shaking from this experience and its not even my car.

Also a side note. It may not be a cb7. 91 integra acually, but this still may have happened to our cars. not cool!

So the engine "dieseled" after shut off, seems like if you killed ignition and took the key out there would have been a device in place to stop the car...my dads nova used to diesel, i just put it in first and dropped the clutch with no gas, it would stall and kill it. Big time ghetto solution...anyway I'm surprised to hear such a thing, I've used it before with no problems, seafoam guarentees its 100% safe, I wonder if they'll pay to fix it. Regardless, I'm shocked to hear it, didn't think such a thing was possible.

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

yeah we though about dropping the clutch. but it was just to sketchy with my car behind his, and a trailer in front him (one lane driveway). a couple of freidns of mine did say right to sea foam about it. but its to much legal shit. and well the car still runs right?

and well i ahve no idea what amount ya should do now. this esperience made me think again about sea foam. id rather just rip the intake manifold off and clean it myself than see what i did.

Sounds like you put too much in too quick...

The instructions say to use 1/3 of the bottle thru the booster line... but you're supposed to do it slowly... not just let it suck it up as fast as possible and not 1/2 the bottle...

I've had nothing but good results from using it... properly...

Sounds like you guys def weren't careful enough... it is a liquid after all and anytime you introduce a liquid, flammable or not to the combustion chamber you have to keep hydrolock in mind and act accordingly...

I think you should consider yourself lucky that you didn't bend a rod or some valves...

seafoam is just hype. If you pour this shit into a new car it will still shoot white out of the tailpipe supposedly "cleaning all the carbon out"

its no different from hydro-lock man. Most liquids can't be compressed like air, so the forces act somewhere and its usually through the valves or rods that the force finds an equilibrium

no need to knock it so quickly, this doesn't happen to all people.. I, and others like me, have used it successfully for a while. BTW I don't blow ANY extra smoke out when I use seafoam, it dumps all the carbon into my oil which should be changed some time after. What do you say to that all you debbie downers who are knocking it when you prob haven't tried it at all?

BTW you can use it as an injector cleaner, just dump it all in your fuel tank, if ur too scared to introduce it through the intake manifold, put half in your oil and half in your tank, problem solved right?

...most liquids?... all liquids cant compress.

anyway seafoam is a petrol type whatever liquid but it doesnt burn untill it is a gas. kno what i mean? nothing burns as a liquid... only in gas form.
