    JDM Type-R shift boot

I am looking at getting one of the JDM Type-R shift boots from:

    http://www.inlinefour.com/jdmtypshifbo.html

and was wondering if I should go with the Integra or Civic one? I want the best possible fit. Any input would be appreciated. Is there really a difference?

Also, how do I disconnect the stock shift boot from the stock shift knob? Does it just take extra pressure or is there pressure clips to push in or something?

    Thanks.

Thank you for the clarification. It obviously didn't dawn on me. So I should go with the Integra boot instead of the Civic one.

The boot is designed to freefloat under the knob and slide up and down the shifter as you move from one gear to the next. There are creases formed into the pleather to make it stand straight up. However, I installed mine identical to the way the OEM one is installed. It works...takes a little playing to get it to fit, but it works. It's not a 100% identical piece to the OEM 4G Accord boot though...fyi.

Thanks for the input. Just from the pictures I could tell it would not fit like the facotry boot does. That is why I am also looking at an aftermarket shifter knob.

Now my other question, how do I seperate the stock shifter boot from the knob without tearing it apart?

To remove the boot, you first detatch the center console platform from the car, and lift it up. This will cause the shift boot to be inverted. There is a big rubber band you roll down off the shifter, and from over the boot. Then you put the center console platform back down. Unscrew the shift knob. Pick the console back up, and the boot will come with it, sliding right off the shifter.

                  Easy as pie.

So, in other words, wait until I get the new Forbidden shifter and do it all at one time?

                      Probably a rhetorical question...but yea...that'd be easier.
