so ive noticed a little bit of smoke comming from my engine bay when i come to a stop. I got under the car and saw it was dripping onto my down pipe. So i looked for where the oil was comming from and cant really tell but it looks like its coming from some sensor above the oil filter. what sensor is this and what has gone bad. can it just be tightened down or is there a gasket or ring there. any way all opinions on this will help. PEACE

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

dont think there is a gasket. maybe has come loose. check and see if it can be tightened but dont try to hard, its a pricey part if you break it.

The sensor above the oil filter is the OIL pressure sensor on the F22A engines. On the H22 engines thats where the knock sensor is.Originally posted by H22artman View Postthe sensor above the filter is the knock sensor.

dam f guys.Originally posted by LowNknoxville View Postdamn h guys. thats what i was just looking at on another thread. it said maybe a 27mm socket. does anyone know this 4 sure? PEACE
maybe i should have asked what youre runnin first.
OPS will often leak oil when bad.
a 24mm socket fits on my OPS for the H22. not sure if it is the same for the F motors.
looks like a 27 maybe for the knock, my socket isnt deep enough to fit.Last edited by H22Artman; 08-03-2008, 02:46 AM.

do certain models have these oil coolers or are they random and more of an optoinal feature from the factory? Mine is a automatic 93 lx f22a1. PEACEOriginally posted by rcy View PostIf you have an oil cooler, make sure it's not that that's leaking. If you don't, then it's probably the oil pressure sensor.

is it a deep socket or more of the kind you use for 02 sensors with a slot in them for the wires? PEACEOriginally posted by H22artman View Posta 24mm socket fits on my OPS for the H22. not sure if it is the same for the F motors.

a regular deep socket shoud be fine since you can take the connector off (no need for a wire slot) but since 99% of O2 sensors are 24mm then you could use that if its all you had and if it fits the OPS.Originally posted by LowNknoxville View Postis it a deep socket or more of the kind you use for 02 sensors with a slot in them for the wires? there are special sockets made for OPS's but most of the time you can use a regular socket, proper sized open end wrench or a crescent wrench.

Mine had the same issue
since this thing houses oil, i just took vice grips and it slipped off, (the skirt is made of plastic).
Then i unscrewed it (fairly simple!) It looks menacing but it's not all it looks to be.
So getting it off was tricky, there is a gasket thing there, i'll inspect tomorrow hopefully i can get some pics about it tomorrow too.
Meh, not feeling the honda game anymore.
MY CAR IS SOLD!!!
