    F22Chris : 1991 VW Golf

I guess my last one looked like a sale thread and got deleted.

I recently got another VW. I was going to get a Mk3 VR6, but that fell through, and I came up on a low mile Mk2 for an absolute steal.

It's got 88k original miles. Carfax is clean, and it's 100% rust free!

    Mods:
    Watercooled Racing Development adjustable Coilovers
    Poly sway links
Audi TT lower control arm bushings
    Mk3 gas tank
    Mk3 transmission
    Fuel pumps
    Fuel filters
    Hella Areo hubcaps
    Weighted throw
    Shift bushings
    New tires all around
    Flushed & new fluids

The plans are to get interior for it, brakes, radio, and exhaust.

As of now, it needs inner tie rods, exhaust hangars, trailing arm bushings, and new clutch cable.

This is going to be my new daily. It drives amazingly, and feels much better to drive than the Honda. I'll get some more pics!

I do. I'll get some tomorrow during the day. It is very straight. It only has two super minor dents. I have some fender flares I have to fit on it.

      I need interior bad, too.

Bay. Nothing fancy except that Benz battery. I want to paint the valve cover light grey or a Bisi blue.

            Carbon fiber badgeless grill

Stripped interior. Need door cards, carpet, and center console. I have Mercedes Benz floor mats, lol.

            More nakedness.

Cracking dash. Need to get a new one. Might repair, not sure.

            Cluster.

Had my first problem today. Very minor, but the idle would not go down. It stayed at 2000rpm. Idle screw was backed way out just like on the Scirocco. 30 seconds with a flat head fixed that.

Lol you're good. This is the GTI front end.

And this is the single light style

I like the front end I have now, kinda lazy eyed.

I replaced the clutch cable today. It has a lot of slack. I noticed that a rubber washer was missing on the clutch lever, so I cut a rubber mallet and drilled a hole in it. Hopefully it will compensate for the missing washer. Otherwise I'm stuck with massive pedal play, or a super low pedal.

Edit: clutch sits normally now. Also found some vacuum leaks. Check valve and idle screw ring were leaking

This thing has a lifter tick like a son of a bitch till its warmed up. I'm gonna do an oil change soon. These cars came off the lot with 40 weight oil so I'm thinking the PO put something thick in there.. That, or I'm gonna have to do the lifters.

I did a much needed tune up today. I got OEM Bosch crap from Myco for cheaper than RA.

The leads in the cap were like dust.

The rotor was actually bent, and I'm pretty sure these were OEM.

The plugs were just as bad. They're supposed to be gapped at 28, but they were worn to over 40. And they were gross.
