    What's the Difference? Auto vs 5spd TB's?

Searched but couldn't seem to find anything that answered my question..

What is the difference between the Automatic and 5spd Throttle body's on the H23?

I have 2 H23 TB's but they both look different, one was off a swapped CD accord in the junkyard, and the tranny was already gone when I found it, the second was purchased locally and the guy that I bought it from was not sure which it was off of.

Here are a couple pics of the two side by side. I can get more if needed.

To me looks like they are from different yrs cause when i did my h22a4 swap it had the map sencer on top but i needed the one w/out and had that lil tube off to the side. one looks to have a smaller opening, the one on the left looks like the one i got off a older h22, and it one has that xtra stuff on the throttle rotor but i know you saw that.

the manual one has a single throttle rotor, while the auto one has TWO throttle, one for the tranny kickdown cable.

i only wonder if the diameter of the TBs are different, but thats hard to tell from pics - very easy to judge by just putting them up against each other.

either one will bolt on and work the same though - so use the bigger one

The h23 one is also bigger than the 5th gen accord tb. Auto JDM h22 throttle bodies are the same size as the D series civic throttle bodies. I've measured them and they are the same size and same bolt pattern.

the one with the map sensor dont look like a h23 TB at all
the coolant nipple that is integrated in the TB is facig backwards
unlike the H22 and h23 the fast idle is smaller
                the actual opening looks smaller

apart from the rotor the SHOULD all be the same
                i just swapped one yesterday

It probably wouldnt kick down a gear properly when you floor it while in a higher gear. I'm not 100% sure on that, not going to unhook mine to go test it out :O
