ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Took battery out and now it won't start.

Hello everyone I been a member for a few months. Using info here before I bought my cb7 . Well yesterday after I put my battery back on my car isn't cranking. It's as if my alternator died but my hazards still work. no power anywhere except the hazards and horn. Ill be honest the battery was rigged. The previous owner placed screws on the posts to fit the terminals. Me being a dummy dropped one of the screws into the car, now it won't start without it . Changed terminals and still only hazards and horn , brake lights work . No interior lights of any kind . Sorry for the grammar errors.

So it worked before battery was pulled. Now it doesn’t? Was the battery on a charger while off the car? Was it off the floor when not in use? First thing I would do is get a new battery especially if the old one was rigged.

If you have no power anywhere, it's more than likely the battery. Have you tried charging it? You could have it load tested at a local parts store.

The alternator does not supply cranking/starting power to your starter or ignition. The alternator only charges the battery and runs the electrical once the engine is running.

Power only to the hazards , brake lights , horn. When the key is in the ignition there are no dash lights or the beeping noise it normally makes.

Battery is good , tested it at AutoZone . I just disconnected and reconnected the battery , new terminals and still same problem. Could it be a fuse ?

Check your fuses and all the ground and power connections to and from the battery. Check to see that when you pulled the wires/connections off the battery that you didn't inadvertently disconnect a battery ground or power wire.

Turns out it was a fuse , big black fuse.
