ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Proper spark plug tube oil change

I just picked up a fairly well used 91 LX coupe the gal said the engine had been rebuilt 60K before she bought it. That would be 90K miles ago now. I kinda of doubt it is true, but I bought the car anyway. I checked the spark plugs first and there is oil in three of the four tubes. I know this is going to have to be dealt with at some point. Chances are the oil was drained unless it was not leaking when the spark plugs were put in. I did not receive any records though I bet the plugs have over 10K on them. Should I just let the oil drain back into the cylinders for now?

The title is just a joke
I did find this video link from someone else's similar problems.

22 minutes long looks so easy in the video.

If there's a significant amount of oil in the tubes, get as much out as possible before removing the plugs. Soak it up with rags (that won't leave fuzz in the holes), suck it out with a turkey baster, whatever... just get it out of there. Enough oil in the cylinders could hydrolock the engine, though I doubt it's THAT much. Still, even a small amount can clog your cat and foul your o2 sensor.
Then replace your spark plug tube seals (which is what that video is, I assume... I didn't click it.)

That video shows how to replace the o-rings under the rocker assembly F22A engine.

Yep, that's the video you want. Study it well. It's the video I used.

I recommend a Stone (or Ishino) upper engine gasket kit. I'm told that they are the OEM. It includes the lower tube seals (which are the primary concern here), upper tube seals (a.k.a. spark plug seals), valve cover gasket and washers/gromets for the valve cover bolts. Do it all at once, you wont regret it.

And just FYI, if you were to let the oil drain down the holes, that would be draining into the combustion chamber - which is not where the oil came from.
