    Dreamability : 1990 Accord LX

This is my daily driver. I currently have a '93 coupe project too.
Bought this for $500, not running and undrivable. I had hit a low spot and needed to get into something quick.
Over the next year, I brought it back to life. It even made a trip to Salt Lake City last summer with my two oldest kids.
The timing belt had no tension and had slipped,(that's why it wouldn't run).
After doing a full timing belt job I immediately had to do the suspension the next weekend because every bump sent the car weaving.
I was told it had never been washed by the PO of 15years, (it was obvious). It took degreaser and 4 good polishings to get the black off, then several coats of wax.
All the glass was etched deep from the years of dirt. So I had to replace all the windows and windshield.
The interior was rotten. I put in seats from a 92 EX I found at pick-n-pull, then cleaned and treated the rest.
After that, it was in the garage every weekend for months.

    What I've done so far:
Gatorback timing belt, balancing Shaft Belt, tensioners, seals, water pump.
Control Arms(upper/lower), tie rods, and all bushings, and good alignment.
    New tires, 195/65/14.
    New transaxles.
4 New hub & bearing assemblies.
New rotors, drums, shoes & pads
Converted and fully rebuilt A.C. system,(I live in Texas!)
Rebuilt distributor, (seals, coil & ignitor).
    NGK wires and plugs.
Rear deck and taillight conversion to 92 sedan.
Replaced all seats with 92 EX's.
    Stock EX muffler.
    New windows, windshield and tint.
    New power antenna.
JBL speakers, Pioneer Amp and Chinese 7" touchscreen stereo.

    Future plans:
    New shocks and springs.
    New Rack-n-Pinion

Thanks for taking the time to post! I almost want to see before pics, it sounded really bad! How many miles are on her now?

Yeah me too! I totally should have taken before pics but when I first started I never expected to keep it, so it wasn't something I thought of. Picture the worst you can imagine; a car you see and think to yourself, "that ones ready for the junk yard". Everything was poorly neglected. There is a picture above with the old seat in it. That's what the whole car looked like.
It's currently at 255,000. It was at 240,000 when I picked it up Oct. 2016.

It's just getting broken in by that milage. Glad to see you brought the car back to life. It looks pretty damn good.

I've never understood how people can be so damn lazy. Especially with a new or fairly new car. My car does not look like anything special, but I still wash it. It's one of the easiest maintenance items to do, but some people still don't do it.
My '91 LX build. Bought September 2017. Sold June 2020.

Wow! Awesome job! Converted hubcaps to '92-'93 as well. Looking really good man. So much more potential!

How dirty was the water after cleaning 15 years of crud? Rhetorical. I am sure it was beyond disgusting. Have you checked all the coolant hoses? I am in the process of replacing my thermostat and every little coolant hose.

            Otherwise amazing job my friend.

I totally don't get it either. I have to have my car clean no matter what I'm driving. I spend to much time there for it not to be a nice place to sit! lol.

You notice! lol. Yep another Pick-N-Pull find.
And yes, all the hoses were replaced and system flushed. Basically, everything on the scheduled maintenance I have done,(i.e. transmission drain and fill, valve lash, hoses & belts, ect.), because it was obvious that none of it ever had been done.

I've currently lost my A.C. due to the discharge hose rupturing. Gonna try Pick-N-Pull in the morning. If no luck then I'll have to order it and wait in the heat.
