ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Whatever controls the amount of time the heater element runs (either a set time or a temp gauge) may be faulty.

How is it wired? To the defroster? Or something else? I've got a set of these mirrors and the switch also. Gotta get em in before winter. I have my heated seats wired to the defroster also but I'm not sure if my defroster is working because my seats don't get warm for long.

Will have to trace the wiring back from the switch

this feature was not included on American cars, so you'll find very few people here are familiar with the wiring and how that system works. I would suggest that you track down a full Honda Repair Manual (usually produced by Helms... you can find copies on the internet) and check the wiring diagram inside.

I have the HELMS for the 1990 Accord and there is no mention of heater mirrors. It is possible there are regional service manuals that would go into detail on that feature though.

Yep and unless you have a non-NA car the car also was not wired for this. So someone would of went through a good deal of trouble to wire and install the components to make this work. Is the switch wired? (take it out and look)

Sounds like it would have it, I'm not 100% sure. If so, the components are most likely in the door. But you still need to know what wires to check for power, etc, etc. So, you need to get a manual to fix this issue. But I'd at least check the fuse first.

                      1. Is the power source wire for the switch getting a signal? (no = fuse ?)
                      2. Continuity in the wires? (broken wire)
                      3. Do the mirrors work if we supply power?

... broken wires, broken switch, ......

The list goes on. Get a manual or start tracing the wires, one by one.

There is a wiring diagram for the heated mirror circuit in the honda manual I have, I will try and get a copy of the page.
