A little background on this picture: My roommate and I are big fans of Ryan Adam's music. Ryan has a small fascination with roses that appears in many of his songs. In our town there is a "Roses Furniture". So naturally we were going to get some shots of it.

We took a little trip just driving around town and taking long exposures. The whole time I was thinking of opportunities for portrait sessions. Im going to be calling this place in the next day or two to get permission to shoot there during the day.Comment

Took a little trip with a friend.
My friends dad has a 70-200mm f/2.8 VR that is AMAZING. My little 55-200 felt so crappy after holding that beast lens. At f/5.6 it really wasn't fast enough to freeze the motion sharp enough either... but it got the job done alright.

those shots look great! I know the 55-200 is not as great as the 70-200 but you froze the action very well. It was bright enough not to have any issues even at f5.6. I shot a bike race in philly this summer with the 55-200 and it held up great for such a fast pace action as cycling is. Have't had to use my 70-200 f2.8 tamron for any sports yet as im waiting for the rowing season to start. your color is also great looking

thanks j-speccb4. you can really see how the full frame sensor shines when you kick up the ISO speed, especially at night where noise can be more visible.The CB9 has been reborn into a CB3

i look at my 40d as a backup/teleconverter/lens holder haha....
i mean i definitely still use it but the 5d handles stuff so much better for the most part. ill be getting a 5dII as well sometime in the near(ish) futureComment

Yeah it does alright... I also sharpened every one of those images to try and help it out more. At larger size you can really tell a faster lens would have been helpful. I had ISO up at like 500 too... perhaps more than shutter speed it is the rate at which it focuses. The 70-200 seemed to focus instantly... the 55-200 seemed very slow in direct comparison. (at 1/10th the price this is understandable)
And holy shit, that 5d at 3200 looks like the d200 at 800.
