ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!
Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956
Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Awesome, just dropped in to check on this and I am impressed with the response since last night, ty very much for the direction, and suggested reading material guys. Thats exactly the kind of stuff I was hoping to get pointed to! Question though...
"To get a bit more into the performance aspect, a VERY good book to start with is Honda/Acura Engine Performance by Mike Kojima. Most of the info is dated (but then again, so are these cars!), and some of it is even downright wrong... but the majority of it is quite helpful. Since you're already familiar with wrenching, the info should make plenty of sense to you once you see it laid out. "
Is the "wrong" information going to be blatently obvious, or am I going to have to cross reference the information before taking it at face value?

None of it is really harmful. Some things are typos (like the embarrassing "vtech" ) but for the most part, everything that matters is correct. Some of the focus on intakes, cam timing, etc... can be a bit drawn out, and made to seem far more important than it really is with these engines, but overall it'll give you a very strong understanding of Honda engines. Especially since you're already knowledgeable about engines in general.

Since you wrench, then you already know that starting with the basics is a great way to learn about the car. Routine maintinace will get you literlly under the hood and familiar with the components. My first step was picking up a Chiltons and reading through the procedure a few times before jumping in. When I did jump in whatever didn't make sense at the time of reading, came together while doing the repair. Whenever I got stuck after the manual, I would come here to read how people have dealt with similar issues.
A major concern with these cars is the timing belt/balance shaft belts and everything that should be changed while your in that area. Like the water pump and seals. There is no point in modifying unless you get the fundamentals covered.
By the way, welcome to the site. This particular site is a great community as you will notice.

I agree, the search engine built into vBulletin sucks. Deever, you might want to take a look at this: http://support.google.com/customsear...n&answer=70308
