Sigh, I hope we won't have to do this, it's going to be awkward.

        What do you guys think?

Do we want to encourage noobies to join or if only to meet at the beginning or end of the trip? If so then maybe add a message to the original post for the noobies who don't have 30 post yet. "If you would like to participate and don't have 30 post yet PM af_1132 or...."

That's probably the best way to go about it. We would need some evidence that each person whom we don't know personally (relatively new to the forum) is mentally mature enough, and their car is properly prepared/equipped for such a long journey. I would ask questions in reply to "Hey man, this trip you guys are cooking up looks awesome, can I go?"

          1. Have you participated in a multi-car road trip of similar size before (one that takes all day to go one way)?

          2. What would you do to get your CB7 ready for a trip like this?

          3. What would you bring with you on a trip like this?

          4. What do you think about doing burnouts and street/roll racing on a trip like this?

          5. Can you reply to these questions with a picture of your car please?

If I were to get responses that make it clear that the person could bring a huge burden due to inexperience to the trip, I will most likely recommend the person come to the final meet at the parking lot of the Santa Monica Pier.

Sounds like a good plan. Anyone that would have a problem answering the questions would be the kind we'd want to keep out anyway.

I really would like for a enjoyable drive if I am coming from the central valley just to roll with yall.... although I believe anyone is welcome I would prefer to just cruse and maybe do some rolling shots.... if anyone is ready for a cruise they should already know the condition of there car and what to bring in case of the inevitable.... people can save there trying to do stupid illegal stuff for there own time some people just want a good trip and to share that with fellow enthusiasts... my two cents

My thoughts exactly, with the addition of still shots at out rest/food stops along the way. If we do actually get any interest from newcomers, it will translate to probably one or two PMs at most. I just want to make sure they are mentally ready, and let them know how serious we are.

Pico Riviera, hmm, that's pretty much directly east of the trip's end. Would you like to join us for part of the trip? A few LA natives are planning to come the whole way, which is awesomely crazy, seeing as it starts in SF!

                        The Route!

I just finished creating the route!

                        Description:

Start: Vista Point on the Sausalito side of the Golden Gate Bridge
End: Parking lot of the Santa Monica Pier
Google Map Route Time: 9 hrs 54 min as of 3:30pm on 1/27/15

To see the route, click here: http://tinyurl.com/nj3nhxh

My initial estimate for our road trip length was 14 hours, but hopefully, after I go back and estimate each leg of the trip with actual traffic analysis data, I will be able to shorten it. I'm doing this so that we won't have to leave so early, but will still be driving during daylight hours for as long as possible.

                          Date Mishap!

Uh oh, I am a dunce.

This whole time, I thought April 10th was a Saturday, wow.

April 10th is a Friday, was everyone aware of this? My bad.

Honestly, either April 10th or April 11th day works for me, since that week is my Spring Break. What day works better for you all?

Oh, I hope none of you took work off unnecessarily.

Since it's a full day event, i'm thinking Saturday would be preferable for most.

After makeing it down to Santa Monica. What is the plan for the central valley guy's anyone looking to stay the night in L.A? I probably will because my personal round trip according to Google Maps is 16 hours and 867 miles (I smell a oil change before the trip for sure) Obviously we will all be going over our cars twice before the trip.... I am stoked though! let's do this even if i'm rolling out at 3am lol

I will be getting up at 3am too, most likely, to beat the traffic to the meet spot.

Yes, I really recommend all the Northern guys spend the night in a hotel down in Santa Monica. Some SoCal guys will be doing something similar before the trip starts up in SF.
