    S2000 has been unleashed, Porsche Beware

    This past weekend Eric and I went down to Virginia International Raceway (VIR) and did a High Performance Driver event with the Porsche Club of America.

    It's safe to say eric bruised the egos of a Bunch of Porsche drivers. This was his first road course event and he passed every car in his group at least once. We're talking Cayman S, GT3, and a purely race built 964 amongst other porsches. There was also a Corvette with a HUGE wing that was a little embarrassed to be passed by a kid in a s2000.

    Here is just a tease of Eric tearing it up. I'll have plenty more later.

    EDIT: Here is the video!

    ----> http://digmyhonda.com/video/s2kvir.html <----

    This is one of the guys we went with in his 993 Replica RSR. This car ran the 24 hours of daytona in 2000.

    This is Eric's Instructor. He's a professional driver and currently was driving this Kit car with a Hyabusa engine in it. Him and a non profit group that helps underprivileged kids built the car.

    we've got a video and some more Pics coming later tonight.

          Looks like fun.

          I would still take a 911 over 10 S2K's though

              911s are awesome... but I'd prefer the balance of an S2000, or a Cayman. 911s are kinda... badonkadonk with that engine hanging over the rear axle!
              That'd be a race preference, though. If it was just ripping around the streets with a kickass car... 911 all the way!

                I will definitely have a 911 GT3 someday, they are just badass mother-f#@kers. I've even lost my desire to have an NSX because of the GT3.

                    The cup cars are a whole 'nother level of insanity. Can't really drive them on the street though.

                            Bridgestone RE-11s. I've been told it's far better to do your first handfull of track days on street tires, as you get a better feel for the limits of the car. And it's not nearly as much wear and tear on things like brakes and bushings.

                              I was going to make the same statement. I thought you were crazy enough to start on the big tires. But at least you have pretty much the best street tires out there.
