    fuel filter

how often do you have to change the fuel filter?...i have a 92 accord with about 95000 miles on it...am i way past due for a filter change?

    #2
depends, usually the interval is 30k. i didnt change mine till 150k...didnt notice too much of a difference, but in cold weather and bad gas u need it to change it more. the part is 23 dollars at the dealer.

    imma change mine every 50
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

    Retro!

Fuel filter changes depend on the quality of the filter you buy. Honda filters are supposed to last like 30,000.

I know some cheap ones last only like 10-15,000

Honda OE, Kyosan, Nippon, and Atsugi/Paraut filters are all rated at 60,000 miles. I can save everyone from going to the dealer for it and send one out for $19 shipped. The part number is 16010-SM4-505

I cant even take out my old one, It probably has been on there for like 80,000 miles. I would brake the whole filter and the bolts attached to the firewall before that shit comes loose.

SHo Nuff- Your not trying hard enough!

Yes, they are a biotch to remove!

                    It MUST be done though!

Try putting a wrench on BOTH of the bolts on the fuel filter. When you turn one, the other wrench will stabilize the entire assembly and prevent damage.

Also try to SOAK the bolts in wd-40 or a better "freeing" lube.

I bought a purolater fuel filter a while back but I haven't installed it yet. Should I get rid of it in favor of a honda OE part or does it make much of a difference? Just curious.
