BB6 Tipronic Transmission

Has anyone installed a BB6 auto Transmission

Why? Its only four gears.
Its been done, cant remember who did it. No different than any other auto swap, you would just have to change the auto slector and make sure the TCM is from that trans, might be a few more wires.

Only one person has done the manumatic conversion that I am aware of ("tiptronic" is a VW term.) That person is in Malaysia, and has not been around here for a long time. It is likely he no longer has his car. No details were provided on the swap, aside from the fact that it was VERY involved. Lots of wiring.

At least one member here is of the opinion that BB6 automatics are some of the worst transmissions ever made.

I had considered it for a while now for my DD just as something out of the ordinary. I have looked into it only very briefly and it seems very complicated but definitely doable. One of these days i want to attempt it and when i do I'll be sure to record every step. But don't hold your breath, it's still just an idea at this point.
